So, we have all had something fall far short of the hype. Movies, electronics, cars, clothes, your mom, and of course guns.

However, have you ever had something that has been so overhyped you can't believe it is true?
Finally you get your hands on it and you are fully prepared for a let down, like always.

Instead... DAMN! Not only were people and reviews right about it, but it is better than you expected.

Well what was it?

My entry: The Ruger Precision Rifle. I picked up mine used in the EE for $850, and it is an easy button for long range stuff!

10 min with a real fountain pen, and I was so far beyond “it’s not the same without one”, it was a dot in the rear view mirror.

My Tac-14 is fun, I mean I never owned a shotgun before but I feel like this is luck that I enjoy it for both it's appearance and fun factor.

Yeah.  Doing Red Bull Crashed Ice.

It looked awesome, but standing three stories up scaffolding at the start with music cranked and a crowd of 100,000 screaming almost made me forget I was twice as old as the other three guys who made the goalie race.

And I had a BFL on my mask, so, WINNING!!!!

That sucks. My friend had one at 35 a few years ago and we figured that was the end of it. Kind of shrugged the first one off.

I miss that guy.

I started sampling/collecting different whiskeys about two years ago and the one thing that would always pop up, "Pappy is the greatest."  I always looked at any of the bottles as a unicorn, just some majestic creature that I will never find.  That was until one of my friends won a bottle of 12 year Pappy in the ABC lottery.  To my amazement he invited me over to try it, he figured he would never have a bottle again so might as well try it rather than sell it for a profit.  I was both afraid and excited about trying it. "What if it's so damn good nothing will taste the same again?  What if it's actually terrible and it's just a novelty item?"  Sadly the later was not true.  It was the best whiskey I have ever had and that wasn't even the higher end version of it.  I've had a few whiskeys that I have enjoyed, but there was always something I didn't like about them.  This drink was perfect start to finish and I hate it so much because I will probably never have it again!

My P09.  I read they were pretty darned accurate.   Got it, headed to the range with some Georgia Arms 115 grain hollow point ammo I bought at the same gun show.

First shot a bit low/right at 12.5 yds
Second shot?  Sort of confused about how I could see the first bullet hole but not the second.
Third shot - the hole in the paper was just enough bigger to tell me all three bullets went into the same place on the target.

After that, I was too shook up to keep it up.

That P09 is the most accurate semi-auto center fire pistol I've ever shot.  And I have a couple 5 gallon buckets of different brands/calibers.

Might catch some flak for this, but my p226 Legion. Regular da/sa 9mm Legion, and I love it.

Been a Glock guy forever, but always wanted a 226. Picked up a FDE Mk25 and  fell in love. Bought the Legion a couple years later. The Legion took it a step further. I don’t give a fuck about the elite hype Legion club bullshit. But it’s a damn good gun for the price.

I concur on the p225. I bought a Mk25 in FDE with a red dot. Awesome. I barely shoot my Glocks.

I also agree with this one.

All other suppressors are good and I enjoy them.

A suppressed 22 is sheer joy.
