I am currently hitting a callaway Mavrik and recently found a Callaway Epic Flash at a pawnshop for 40 bucks...This is a $500 club!
Holy shit, I can hit the Mavrik like a ton of bricks but holy shit I hit that flash today like happy gilmore!! What you guys hitting? |
Not sure if you're aware, but golf has been a political issue for about 12 years now.

I never hit anything. It’s the Asian ones you gotta look out for
Ping G10 I bought new when I was in high school. I need to play more
Used to always play TM. Switched to Cobra for the F9 and now playing a Speedzone since my friend wanted my F9 something fierce. Nothing has topped my Speedzone yet. Playing the Hzrdous green "hulk" shaft.

Usually the ones who change lanes without looking because they are fucking around with their phone.
Oh, wrong thread. Never mind.... |
Ohhhh, you're talking about golf...
I thought you were talking about assholes that cut you off in traffic.. My bad.. |

Epic Flash, good club. One of 4 Callaway clubs I carry. Irons are Mizuno.
Currently an M3 with Hzrdus Yellow 6.0.
Been thinking of upgrading to a Sim of some sort but haven't hit one yet. I should probably look at others but am a little ocd. Have only Mizuno wedges and irons, TM woods, and switch between a TM and Mizuno putter. |

The SIM just didn't do it for me. I am picky as well on my bag. Currently gaming the Cobra SZ driver, Cobra F9 3w, TM Aeroburner TP 19 degree rescue, P790 4-6 iron, new P770 7-PW, TM MG2 wedges tweaked 50 and 56, TM Tiger woods 60, Scotty Putter TM putters and recent Drivers just don't cut it for me. Left my TM irons for new Mizuno HMB irons and ended up with the 790/770 combo. I just wasn't a fan of the Mizuno's |

Cobra F9
It's just too good to move on from. I long gave up the game of chasing 2-3 extra yards for 500 bucks. Gimmie predictable flight and fairways all day at 260-270 yards and I'm good. |
Depends on the day, sometimes a ruger 10/22, some days a 50bmg.
Once I quit drinking golf was boring. Have a few hundred balls I found that I'll shoot every now and then |
TaylorMade SLDR 460 S. I love that club. But it hates me.....

have not played in years. If my daughter goes to college in Florida or Hawaii, I will likely have to have her store my clubs for me
I was just thinking about hitting the range here in sunny cold Ohio. I have a nice set of Calloways with a burner driver, I think. Its been 10 years since I've really used them but come a warm March day I am going to hit a bucket and maybe hit the lynx this summer. Being home without a lot of interaction at work has left me rediscovering old hobbies.
Still M6 in the bag.
It was a coin flip with the F9 when they came out with distance for me. I liked looking down at the M6 more then the F9 so I went that way. |
If I thought anything newer would make me a better player I'd buy it. Price no object (hey, I play 250 rounds a year).
Current bag has: Driver - Cobra F9 3 and 5 woods. 22 and 19 rescue - Ping G Irons - PXG first generation 52 and 56 degree Wedges - Cleveland RTG Putter - Scotty Newport 2, PXG Bat Attack, Ping, hell the list is endless because THAT is the club that matters. LOL But hey, I'm older and can't hit 300 yard bombs so now I play clubs that help lower my scores. |
I have a full set of Triumph Ultima clubs that my grandfather gave me a while back that I’d like to start figuring out how to use. I had a small handful of lessons at a local range when I was 14 or so, but nothing really stuck. Ten plus years later, I’ve decided it’s time to figure out how to properly start.

I have a Ping G400. I don’t need any new clubs, I need lessons

Titleist Tsi2 best driver I’ve hit in over ten years , op I had the epic flash sub zero and it was the biggest piece of shit I’ve ever gamed i play off of a 5 handicap the Tsi2 and tsi3 have become the number one driver on tour believe you me it’s not just hype they are great drivers ... just make sure you get fit properly with the correct shaft .
I've still got an old Callaway X-Hot. I need to get out and hit it some this year. I'm planning on retiring at the end of the year and have plans to play a lot of golf in 2022.

Taylormade but Dad gave me a Nike driver today but haven't hit it.
Swings nice, we shall see. |
Currently an M3.
I have an appointment at the PXG studio tomorrow morning to get fit for a new driver. |
Good thread, OP.
If I decided I wanted to get back to playing golf again, I'd drag my clubs out that haven't seen a course in 8 years. Driver would be a king cobra. Irons are Ping Eye 2 black dots. Odyssey putter. |

LMFAO...I learned to play from my ex-father in law..We still play once a week and it and it drives the ex crazy Last time we played I crushed one down the middle of the fairway like happy gilmore I ended up 20 yards of the green on a par 4.. he dug his 5 iron hard into the dirt and then quit because his back hurt according to him.. |

lately it is the professionals that drive like shit. Today ace super driver ran the light and decided to make a turn in front of me and flip me off for blowing the horn. What a moron in a purple freightshaker.

The only club I have is an old Big Big Bertha 460 that i use at topgolf. People enjoy watching me drill the back net.
I want to get a Callway Epic speed this year. I am trying to hit them over the net but can’t quite make it. |

It's what you hit the most fairways with. I watch videos from this English guy named Rick Shields. He does a lot of equipment comparisons and year to year, all the major brands really all go the same distance all things being equal. He also compares new drivers from the same brand to drivers five years ago. Hardly any measurable difference..less than five yards. The improvement if any is in the forgiveness on miss hits. He tries them all and keeps his Cobras but in the last test he tested a new Ping G425 (not sure if I have the number right) and said it was the straightest and most forgiving driver he has ever hit. Distance wise, same as the others. So it really comes down to what works for you with the game you have.
I still play with an old Adams low spin driver I cut to 43 3/4 inches. I'd rather be in the fairway. |

So I believe the gap between all the clubs is unimportant picking my driver. Fairways count. As far as distance goes the shaft means more. Get one too stiff and you lose distance. Get one too floppy and you lose control. Need a goldilocks shaft on pretty much any of the modern drivers and work on the swing. Club manufacturers don't like my attitude. Once I got clubs that fit my game I don't change much. LOL. |

For me it’s always been TM driver, Ping irons and Putter, the Callaway or Cleveland wedges.
