For example, when inserting an image such as from below link: https://i.imgur.com/zIDQRT8.jpg It doesn't embed, it just shows up to me as a link. Has anyone seen this and had any tips how to get it to embed?

They have to be approved by other users until you've been deemed worthy by the requisite number of posts. You should post more.
ETA: It's a feature Goatboy added to prevent people from creating accounts, and posting trackers and such. Once you've posted a few more images and they've been approved by other users, it will go away. We see this:  Attached File |
