I dont think this site supports direct embed like Youtube with Instagram. But you can technically sort of do it.

If you go to the Instagram post and click on the "..." you can select "Embed" then copy the embed link.  Within the link is the posts code like "B7bHRPbgjWc".

You then paste that code into the following command and put it into the ar15.com post and it converts it to a clickable image.

Put the code where XXXXXXX is in the two places.  Also take out the space at the end and beginning of URL and IMG I added so it wouldnt create the link and you could actually see the coding.

[ URL=https://www.instagram.com/p/XXXXXXXXXX/]https://instagram.com/p/XXXXXXXXXX/media/?size=m

That's my suggestion.  Allow the use of the copy to embed functionality provided on IG

I'm not even sure what you did to get that picture to show up the way you did.

IG has been horrid with their APIs for over a year now, but I'll get this on our list.

Understandable.  But thank you.

For me, there's content I'm posting on IG that is 2x the work to share here.  Having a simple way to share it from IG would be awesome.

Also if it were easy to share from IG think of all the shitstorm threads we could have about gunstagrammers

Why want this IG post work? Is it due to it being a private acct?

Oh, now I see.  Your link is to an Instagram TV post, and those don't work apparently.  The one above is from the same IG account, just not an IG TV post.

Now I got it.  The original IGTV post URL is: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CFf03WJgZnL/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Snip the part I highlighted earlier and change the /tv/ to /p/ and it looks like this: https://www.instagram.com/p/CFf03WJgZnL/

Then it will embed just fine.

I can't figure this out. I've snipped the url as above, and it either displays nothing or shows the text.

I'm pretty sure it's broken again

Any plans on getting this fixed? I can't say I've ever been able to make it work.

Anyone else noticing that instagram has officially put the ka-bosh on firearm related photos and accounts?

My account went dead, feed going no where. So I using a different device, new email, google phone number, created a new account and went searching for the popular “accounts.” Typed in their name as it would normally be and their accounts do not show up no matter what I tried. ONLY way I could get to their page was to search them as a hashtag, look for a picture where someone tagged the account with a “@“ and then I could finally see their page.

If you follow them already it will not be an issue, it is if you are not following them and they don’t show up. Discovered this trying to tag a gun manufacture to a photo of mine and it would not allow it.
