My daughters doxie does not like his teeth being messed with.
We try to brush and wipe them but he fights us all the time. They are starting to turn color.  What can we do or give him to help his teeth? He gets all kinds of chew toys and bones but they are not helping as much as we like. |

a cleaning/scaling/polishing under anesthesia with a veterinarian is the proper answer.

Your best chewers don’t get funky teeth. My bitch doesn’t chew for sport like my male does. Her teeth are funky and his aren’t.
My male is on the floor chewing his antler right now. |

Those help the dog scale their own teeth, but you need to monitor and take the chews away when they get too small. If your dog is not a chewer, just make an annual or biannual appointment for sedation dentistry for your pup. |

Thank you for hints.
He loves to chew bones to the point he will make his gums bleed. Will make sure he gets more bones to chew on and let his mama play with him. Having the vet sedate him and clean is out of our budget right now.
