Chocolate can kill a dog. We lost a little dog one time that got into a stash of Sees chocolates. Died the next day from toxic shock.

When I was in high school, a buddy of mine had a Doberman like that one. He looked vicious as hell, but was the most wussy dog that I have ever seen. You could clap your hands and he would take off for the hills. His name was Zeus. When you hollered his name, he would snarl like the dog on the video. One day a couple of black friends came over while we were outside. Zeus walked up wagging his nub. When the guys got close, I hollered Zeus! The dog snarled and the two black guys jumped on the hood of their car in around 1/8 of a second. I then clapped my hands, and the dog yelped and took off for the woods. It was the funniest shit ever.

It's pretty sad.  Very much like the video of a cat who'd been fed LSD in a 1959 US Army research experiment.  I will not post that one.

Little dogs are far more susceptible.

My lab ate an entire bag of hershey kisses one time. He pooped tinfoil for 2 days.

If you've never had or encountered a lab or retriever, you might not get why this is hysterical

Like other things that are poisonous to my dog, I'm not interested in finding out what the quantity is that will either just make him really sick or kill him all together.

What kind of dipshit allows their dog access to things it's not supposed to eat? Exactly how tough is that?

Onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, fat trimmings/fatty meat also make the list of shit you shouldn't feed to your dog.

While it's not good for them, from everything the vet has told me the quality of the chocolate that most Americans consume is so low that it takes a LOT of chocolate.  Now, like someone above posted something like Sees is higher quality and with a smaller dog, poses a bigger danger.

I remember as a kid, one of our family dogs (Chesapeake Bay Retriever....STOOPID dog) at an entire candy dish...think little old lady glass dish on a coffee table...of holiday Hershey's kisses.  The dog had the shits for a day.  Fortunately, not in the house but there were red and green sparkly shit streaks all over the yard.

That guy should be kicked in his fucking head and the dog should be at an emergency vet clinic.

I also agree with this.  Maybe I'm getting too old and cynical, but unless it's a surveillance-type (even then I'm a skeptic) video I don't think ANY videos aren't staged anymore.

I have a game i play with one of my dobies, I walk in and pretend i can't find her, even if shes right next to me shaking with excitement.

When i do finally "see" her she sits there and smiles at me like that.

There's very little actual chocolate in mass-produced cheap milk chocolate.  The lethal dose depends on the amount of actual chocolate content of the "chocolate" and the weight of the animal, but generally an average-sized dog can eat an entire bag of "milk chocolate" and not get more than a stomach ache (that's not an excuse to not take them to a vet immediately though).  Baked goods have even less chocolate by weight than milk chocolate.  It's dark chocolate, especially the higher quality stuff, that you really need to watch out for.  A single normal bar of dark chocolate is plenty to kill most dogs.

Done intentionally? I'd be the first in line to punt him.

Back when I was in school a buddy's hound got into his stash.  The guy loved that dog more than anything.  We collectively thought the dog had a stroke and he was beside himself.

He found the half eaten bag. He stayed up all night with the dog.  In the morning, his buddy was all better. It was sad to watch.

Point is, he made a mistake, his dog was fine, it was sad to watch.
