“Many talented people have been impacted by layoffs in the past few months and with the holidays approaching, this is a tough time to be without work,” John Heyliger, Lockheed Martin’s vice president of talent acquisition, wrote on LinkedIn. “If you, or someone you know, has found themselves unexpectedly seeking new opportunities, my team and I are here to connect.”

If you think there isnt great talent at Twitter, you're wrong. Most of them were there because they liked the benefits and work/life balance. Once thats gone, they dont have a reason to stay.

it's an online text message board for Christ's sake.  Musk has been able to wrangle the right talent to put lots of stuff in space and some of it even lands itself in a way I never expected to see in my lifetime.  I'm confident he'll be able to keep and attract the right talent to keep an online text messaging board running...

They created the most significant global town hall possible. DoD could care less how they expand their creativity. These aren’t drone technicians.

Most of the valuable ones (engineers) aren't being shitcanned. I'm sure some will walk, but the bulk of the layoffs are "soft skill" types.

That's the truth of it,   also factor in the potential new talent that might have either been kept out or just stayed away on their own due to the toxic environment at twitter for some.

Musk offered those people the chance to do something totally unique and amazing. He cant offer that for Twitter. So all the good people are on their way out the door, if they didnt leave already.

They'd never want the job.

And Uncle Sam certainly does give a damn about you double-dipping on him vs other employers on the same 40-hour work week.

If you think shitbirds/people with casual drug use history aren't capable of getting or maintaining clearances, you haven't served long enough as military or DOD civilian personnel. I know people who smoked weed in school and got jobs at places like Booz Allen Hamilton, or were even on track to commissioning through ROTC.

Also you don't get piss tested working for beltway bandits, at least not for desk type work. Maybe handling vehicles or hazmat, sure, but I've never seen that in my career at companies supporting the DOD.

Space X and Tesla both have pretty high turnover rates. So either Musk likes to hire lots of people he doesnt need, or people dont really want to work for him as much as they want his companys' names on their resumes

Then you have a lame job.
The IC and those with access to chemical/biological agents used for defensive testing (Personnel Reliability Program) both test on a frequent but random basis.

How anyone expected anything other than this I'll never know. Just because someone on TV tells you what you want to hear so you can stick your head back in the sand and pretend everything is fine or good I'll never understand.

It was obvious that woke companies would love virtue signaling this. It was obvious their talent crushing dissent was wanted. They'll do their jobs because they are truly indoctrinated and love nothing more than being paid for pushing their agendas.

These places will gladly hire shitty workers on top of everything because they are loyal to the cause.

I have well over 30 years military/DOE/DoD contractor work under my belt. I have seen many individuals lose their job after popping hot on a piss test. We have regular random piss tests. Just a few months ago security pulled badges and escorted individuals off the installation for hot tests.

If you're claiming you did 40 hours for him, and you really did 10 hours for him and 30 hours making wedding name tags or whatever for Etsy, oh yes.
He doesn't care if you did the 30 hours for Etsy after close of business, or if you only billed for 10 hours. But if you said you did 40 hours, you'd better have done at least 40 hours for him.

Through my LinkedIn I saw one of the executives at Starbucks Corp (technology something) with a similar message about their team hiring.

It's kind of interesting watching finance, gov, and consumer facing companies trying to pick the scraps from the tech layoffs.

Frankly, with the way it works with the West Coast States, none of these folks are going to do shit until their unemployment is up. No point in taking a haircut
