it will be out of stock soon. I picked up a bulk pack of federal at sportsmans 2 weeks ago. I paid $49 for 800 so 6 cents a round and i wasnt that enthused about it either but i did it. And luckily found enough space for proper storage for it. They also had .40 reman from HSM.

Is it all those new shooters, I keep reading about, that keep buying all this high priced ammo?

No shit, it's like I look at the pile of surplus battlepacks of 308 in my basement and go "Damn, that's a new Honda...well, Kia, these days..."

Some guy is selling 525 Remington packs for $245 on Gunbroker . . . I have 20 of them. Loaded up when Bass Pro finally got them in stock like a year and a half ago using the points off my credit card. I paid $60 or 70 out of pocket for them.

Should I feel bad for burning through 500-1000 rounds of that every weekend lately? Really good ammo for plinking.

I bought it back when it was about $20 delivered per 500 round brick.

Fifteen years ago at Bass Pro, the isle was completely full of .22 for $8.99 a brick, and people walked on by as if it wasn't even there.

I myself made sure to buy a brick or two every time I shopped there and boy I'm sure glad I did.

For at least a few years straight I bought a brick of .22 and a box of either 9mm or .40 everytime I went to rural king for chicken food

I mean it's obvious new shooters are fueling this hysteria.  Just makes me feel kind of bad for them not knowing any better.  Mainly for the younger ones that never really could have "been prepared" for this(because I know many will say fuck them they should have prepared).

I didn't buy a single round of ammo in 2020, and sold off a lot of 5.56 at .75CPR, and even that is stupid cheap now.  My local shop is selling black hills 5.56 for $3 a round and he sold out.

It was the smart play, and it paid off for you and I, and others. I saw the hand writing on the wall. Ammo was dirt cheap. 9/11/01, war, President Obama gets elected, uncertain future events....

I stocked up and stashed it all away in ammo cans, with the exception of surplus spam cans. My ammo is not for sale at any price.

I found this today while cleaning out a closet in the garage. Didn’t even know that I had it stashed.

the number they are saying are in stock keeps changing. Saw it drop to 45 then an hour later back up to 85 and now its low 50s. Wonder what that is all about

Heck I am waiting for .22lr to go higher, maybe .50/rd. I have over 25k rounds and I rarely shoot it.
