Looking for a ceramic coffee mug that will keep my coffee piping hot
Is there such a thing? General Discussion throw me a bone |
Ember mug 2
Eta run hot water in a regular ceramic cup before putting in the coffee. |
Put your mug in the oven set to 350 before you put your coffee in it. That will keep it hotter longer.
Or get a yeti coffee cup. Your fighting basic physics and a ceramic mug sucks at heat retention |
Don’t know about ceramic but the cheap Walmart Ozarks Trail yeti knockoffs keep coffee very hot.
Gotta prime it first though. Microwave hot water for a minute then pour it in your tumbler and let set for 10minutes or so. BOOM. |
ceramic enameled vacuum insulated mug?
ceramic aesthetics with the heat retention of vacuum insulated stainless something like this? |
Yetti for sure lol JK
outdoor stores sell alot of these kinds of things. Sportsmans warehouse does near me |
Not sure of name, I think it is Stokke. Double walled ceramic.
Advertised on FB. not cheap! I do not have one, so I have no experience as to effectiveness. Name is correct. Does not seem to be double walled though. |

People's of GD you are the best.
As most of you are already aware I have mental issues , severe mental issues Lol. Drinking coffee out of anything other than ceramic would most likely send me to the nut house. Yes I know weird. Going to try the Scheels mug. ETA $ 99 for the Ember 2 not going to happen lol |

Agree cheap Ozark trail Yeti knock off for like $6. I got here at 7 and just finished it now and it was still piping hot.

Ceramics shed heat fast as hell... that one of the reasons why the space shuttle heat shield was lined with them.
Get an insulated stainless mug. Insulation retains heat and bare metal has a hard time shedding head (ever touch a chrome bumper in the sun?). Your best bet with ceramic is preheating in the oven, but it’s still going to shed heat relatively quickly. |

Our coffee mug shelf is on a wall that takes wind off the lake all night. I'm pretty sure we could keep meat in that cupboard. On cold mornings I throw a mug in the microwave to take the chill off.

Yeti, but it keeps coffee too hot for too long for me. Shit I don't drink it for its taste.
I have a Yeti that will keep whatever I don’t drink warm most of the day

How fucking long does it take to drink 10oz of coffee? Does 7-eleven still sell 64oz cups? |
How long do some of you nurse a cup of coffee that you need a special mug to keep it at temp?
Klean Kanteen
You will burn yourself as it keep the coffee hot for hours. https://www.kleankanteen.com |

Any double-walled or vacuum insulated cup will do quite well.
But I'm over here wondering how shitty y'alls coffee must taste if you don't drink it before it gets cool. |
Am I the only one that doesn't like sipping coffee from metal?
I like the double glass coffee mugs for use around the house.

I turn on the hot water kettle when I make the coffee. Water is boiling a few minutes before coffee is ready. Fill cup with boiling water, then dump and fill with coffee. Don't cool your coffee with a cold mug before you enjoy the first sip!
Adding a lid to your yeti or yeti knock off will also keep your coffee hot longer. People don't think physics be like it is, but it do. |
I have a Starbucks travel mug and that thing keeps the coffee hot for hours. Even moreso if I put some hot water in it to pre-heat.
ETA: not ceramic, it's metal and plastic |
BRCC mug. Just tell it you're a conservative and it will get steaming hot.

My wife runs hot water in the mugs waiting on the coffee to stop brewing.
Helps a lot. We know.......it's cold 8 months out of the year here. |
The 7-11 mugs work ok, and they are good for getting a discount on the coffee too.
Hours? I am ready for a 2nd cup. |
I know it’s not ceramic butThe Campmor insulated mug, used to be made by Alladin not sure who now but it works.
