Replacing a cupola on a barn-like structure.  We have an old copper cover that was on the antique one that the base rotted away.

What can I coat this with that would preserve the shiny copper a long while?  Anything?  It will be on a high pitched roof exposed to all weather, sun, etc. year-round.

I have heard of "Everbrite" - does that last a long time?  What about just spraying clear air-cure Cerkaote?

Many people like the patina of aged copper.   Maybe cleaning it then a couple of coats of Johnson Paste wax may cutdown on cleanings.

Have it gold plated?

Clean it well w/ denatured alcohol and coat with everbrite. A gutter guy got me onto it, years ago. It's what he put on copper gutters, cupolas, showers, anything that was exterior copper.
