You are given 4 cups of freshly pressed coffee. A brewmaster has correctly prepared these cups specifically for you.
Could you correctly identify the origin and roast of each cup? |

Depends on what we're comparing. Some folgers vs 100% kona or something? Yeah. 4 high quality beans with similar roasts? probably not.

Absolutely I could tell the difference, no I couldn’t identify them.

Their origin and roast? Fuck no. I guess I could tell the difference between light roast and espresso roast.
Which ones taste good? Absolutely. I'm currently awaiting delivery of some Covfefe Dark Roast beans. I'm anxious to try it. |

I can taste the difference between the rot gut they used to have here at work and normal Folgers...

Yes....
I can taste the difference between "dirty water" and "coffee".... |

We did this at a roaster in Costa Rica. He explained the flavors evident in each roast/region/prep. Different preps can create different finishes with the same bean and roast. There is a huge difference between good coffee and that cheap crap you get from Starbucks.

I couldn’t tell the origin but I could surely tell the difference between brown water breakfast blend and a good dark roast.

I can taste the differences but not identify origins or roast. I’m not a coffee snob and enjoy everything from swill at the corner store to Turkish camp coffee. Drink it all black and hot and I’m happy.

A few times guys at work have brought in some fancy stuff, Kopi Luak, Kona, etc., and run it through our awful coffee maker. It really does all taste the same that way through that maker. They don’t use enough grounds and it’s just coffee in name only.
When I make it you taste it and you can pick out the differences with ease And just FYI, prepared properly this coffee right here is the stuff. Attached File Roasted by a former Daytona 500 winner as well |

I can tell the difference between good coffee and bad coffee. Also regular and decaf. That's good enough for me.

I may be able to tell that they're different, and maybe even some tasting notes. But there's not a chance I'll be able to guess where they were roasted or grown.
|
|
Nope, but I can tell the difference between a cup made in a shitty, overpriced, trendy coffee shop and what's brewed at home with clean equipment and quality ingredients.
|

I can not tell you which is which
I can tell you they taste different... Your title had me answer the poll different then I would have if I read the post first. |
