We just flew over NE Wisconsin and hit quite a bit of turbulence. Wonder if that was an issue for the plane.

Local news this AM said the pilot may have had a medical issue and stopped flying the plane. The plane was losing altitude and they send a couple of jets to investigate/escort it. After the crash, the pilot was found deceased.
The United States Air Force and Federal Aviation Administration said they were in the process of tracking a fixed-wing single-engine beech plane. Two jets escorting the plane said it flew too low, causing them to lose sight of it.
