How is it even possible to have this book ready to go only two days into the fire?  Not a tin foil hat guy here, but this is just bizarre.

Fire and Fury the Story of the 2023 Maui Fire and it's Implications for Climate Change

Fire and Fury: The Story of the Maui Fire and its Implications for Climate Change is a gripping and eye-opening account of one of the most devastating wildfires in Hawaii's history, and how it reveals the urgent need to address the global climate crisis. The book chronicles the events of August 8-11, 2023, when a massive fire swept across the island of Maui, fueled by drought, heat, and hurricane winds. The book describes the harrowing experiences of the people who lived through the fire, as well as the heroic efforts of the firefighters and rescuers who battled the flames. The book also examines the causes and consequences of the fire, both locally and globally, and how it exposes the vulnerability of our society and our planet to the impacts of climate change. The book draws on scientific research, eyewitness accounts, official reports, and media coverage to provide a comprehensive and compelling narrative of the Maui fire and its implications for climate change. The book also offers practical solutions and recommendations on how we can prevent and prepare for future wildfires, and how we can reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to a changing climate. Fire and Fury: The Story of the Maui Fire and its Implications for Climate Change is a must-read for anyone who cares about the environment, the future of humanity, and the fate of our beautiful planet.

The book was already written with the locations blank, they were just waiting for a fire in a place that doesn't get twenty fires a year

Easy, you tell ChatGP to write a book about a fire on an island. And then you sell e-books on Amazon

This is bizarre. How do they have the stories of the people of Maui, as the book claims, within days? Doesn't add up at all.

It's already got 13 one star ratings/reviews.

On a good day I can write about 10 pages, on a really inspired great day I've gotten 15.  That book is showing a publication date of the 10th, so while the fire was still going, and it's 86 pages long.

Dr. Miles Stones is quite the prolific author/biographer.  Can't seem to find an author page on the man himself though.

The Maui Fire book is going for 6 bucks electronic copy and is number 1 in the weather category.

The fire is still burning and they haven’t even begun the investigation yet. My guess is the book was already written, they just needed and excuse to publish it.

Ah fuck that noise.  I hope the proceeds go to some "non-Hawaiian" who will buy up burned out Lahaina property and put in a bland commercial establishment.  Lahaina was a bunch of tacky, ratty, fake trinket stores and pack-em-in overpriced restaurants.

Yeah, and mostly biographies (like of Joko Wilnick and Drago) that should take a fair amount of research.  They seem to be 100 pages or less and a 6.99 price point for the electronic copies.  Its a business model, and it has to be AI generated.

With access to all of the internet reports on the fire... AI could probably write a book about it in a matter of seconds.

Does the story end as designed?  With everyone smiling and happy that they are no longer burdened by business or real estate ownership.  Able to walk or get all their needs met within 15 minutes from their home(750sqf apt)?

I read that it was fueled by dry non-native grasses that were planted over old pineapple and sugar cane plantations.

That was my guess. Someone just asked chat gpt a few pointed questions, copy and paste the results- profit. We just saw this last night, but I see it's now being published under a new name. One of the reviewers said it was getting such horrible reviews that they took down the original and now attribute it to another name.

If it's true that AI was heavily utilized, then we have a very sad literary scene coming round the bend, as if we hadn't already lost all trust in media.
