Knocking on heavens door is his best vocal track, with lay lady lay a close second. Prove me wrong...

Not much of a Dylan fan but yea, those 2 are probably the best he did.
Great "listening" music from a great era in music . |
|
I'm a fan of his work on Blood On The Tracks, Tangled Up In Blue and Rosemary, Lily And The Jack Of Hearts in particular.

Meh, kinda partial to
Bob Dylan - Wigwam (Official Audio) Unfortunately, I can't find the original without the horn section which was added later without Dylan's approval. |

Oh shit! I thought all this time he was knocking on Kevin’s door!
Clapton’s cover was better. |

I'll be the edge lord, Bob Dylan's death rattle will be his greatest recorded work.
Great songwriter, horrible singer/vocalist. |

If you can listen to anything Bob Dylan ever did you can probably also deep throat a ten inch cock.

Dylan wrote a very small part of “Wagon Wheel”. That would be his only worthwhile contribution to the music world.

Nope.

Do you guys know the difference between best song and best vocal track?
He wrote and did a lot of good songs. He only had a couple of good vocals. Most of his stuff sounded better when done by other artists. |

I like a lot of Dylan, especially this one. Jokerman
Bob Dylan - Jokerman (Official HD Video) Never made the top 40 chart but it's deep. |

Quoted: I am old GNR did it better. View Quote I think GNR did it better. But can appreciate the Dylan version also. Im 45 But when I was younger around the GNR years (80's) I didn't really care for them. Early 90's were my coming off age. Now that im older I like the stuff. OH well. Remember Dolly Sang I will always love you. BUT Whitney Houston Did it better!!! |

I think Lay, Lady, Lay is actually his best.
I'm not going to fight you, or anything. I'm just telling you which is his best. |
|
OP is correct, those are his best vocal tracks. The reason they are is because they don't have the normal Bob Dylan vocal sound.
|
|
This is one of his best vocals.

View Quote His way with words in that song are really stunning..."I can't remember the sound of my own name"...just thinking that some day I wouldn't be able to remember what it sounds like when my wife says my name really gets to me. I firmly believe that some day people will look back and think that Bob Dylan is to song writing what Shakespeare was to writing plays. |
|
Dylan sucks on several levels but OP nailed it. Those are pretty much the only things he produced that aren't just shit.

I've actually seen both G&R and Bob Dylan perform. Both were great. However I will say that if I didn't know the songs, I never would have understood them at the Dylan concert.

Am I the only one that likes "Don't think twice, it's alright," best?

Oh Jesus, God, No.
I cannot STAND "Lay Lady Lay." And I like Bob Dylan, too. |

For those who complain about his singing, I wish I could sing half as well!
Great vocals on Girl from the North Country. Singing with Johnny Cash seems to bring better melody to Dylan's voice. Girl from the North Country He sang Shelter from the Storm really well here: Bob Dylan - Shelter From The Storm Greatest Ever Live Version |
|
Knocking on Heavens Door is the only song of his l can listen too.
I just really hate his style otherwise. |

Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash - Wanted Man (Take 1) (Official Video) |

He was just a little before the time I became interested in popular music. Lay Lady Lay was listenable for guitaring. I always thought Dylan was hyped almost as much as Springsteen.

Does anyone else recall the PBS documentary where he talked about "going down to the crossroad"?
The meaning of which is selling your soul. Watch that piece and see how bleak and regretful and lost he looks when he talks about it. |
