Quoted: What was the special about these? Before my time. 80% lowers? View Quote Dude took 2 or 3 rounds of pre orders for 80s. Also for some rails I think it was. Took in over a quarter million dollars. Only a handful made it into the hands of the pre orderers and then Botach got a whole shit ton of them and he never delivered any more to anyone else. Pretty fucking outstanding for a guy who was a cop for his day job. |

Quoted: VLtor actually produced Bren 10s? View Quote No, the original company Dornaus & Dixon, they shipped Bren Tens without magazines. When Michael Mann filmed Miami Vice in the 80s, he had one staffer whose sole job was to collect the magazines dropped when filming Crockett using his gun (a Bren Ten in .45ACP). IIRC, one fell into the water once while filming, and they sent divers to fetch it. THAT’s how rare the mags were. |

Quoted: I knew that, I just misread the post I guess. I did not know they made them in .45 though View Quote It's been said by more than a few people that if they had just made the damn things in 45 and not been busy trying to introduce a new caliber they might have pulled it off. I agree with that. Especially since to this day there are 10mm handguns floating around that don't work right because they are converted 45s using a 45 feed cycle. If you have a 10mm locked breech pistol the breech has to stay locked as long as possible. Many firearms companies don't know this and just use slide mass to absorb the energy. In the words of Tony Stark, "not a good plan." At best it makes the guns heavy and awkward. At worse they beat themselves to death. |

In January, it will be 4 years since I ordered and paid for a new Automag at SHOT
It has been a safe thread...still waiting... |

Quoted: Quoted: trust me, I know just did convert my 2021 order into a 2022 yesterday. I'm #30 in line at one of 2 below invoice dealers. I'm getting a loaded Badlands for $52k, MSRP is $56k. I'm thinking by March. I have 800 people ahead of me damn son, you at Granger in Iowa or something? |

1983- 84 Ruger announced the Mini 14 would be avalable in .243 and .308
A North Carolina distributer was takeing deposits on guns that never made it out of prototype. I think they were still in lawsuits when they went under about 89. |

The Masada. The ACR is not the Masada that I read about for years in gun mags…..

Quoted: The Masada. The ACR is not the Masada that I read about for years in gun mags….. View Quote I'm trying to figure out what everyone's complaint here is. The only things BM changed that weren't production changes that allowed it to be mass produced were 1-removing the built in iron sights 2-using a 2 position gas valve instead of a 3 position with an "off" setting, and 3-moving the charging handle forward instead of placing it over the ejection port. Is it because it didn't live up to the unrealistic price and weight promises Magpul made with their mostly non-functioning prototypes? |

Ordered the Barrett 95 the second I saw it in the shotgun news. Waited and waited and waited, called many times times and was told "soon". Mr Barrett (father) lied and lied to me. I finally wanted my money back....was told ok you can pick your serial number...ok 007, sorry already sold, ok 1, no we keep that, ok I don't really give a shit just want the gun. finally got it but it was painful and I will never give that lier a dime. I hope his kids run it better.

The Ruger rep made it sound like it was a done deal and production was up and running and they'd be out any time now. Never heard another thing; died with a whimper. |

Quoted: Special Weapons (especially the SW3) View Quote I don’t think his first guns were vaporware. I got an SW3 and SW5 from the preorder. I don’t remember how long it took me to get them, but I don’t ever remember thinking I was getting scammed. I think things got screwy with SW and then new named companies later. I still have the SW5 and it works great. People forget that at the time, there were not a lot of options for HK style guns and the originals were really high in price after the import ban and at that time, half way through the AW ban. I am surprised there were not more outright scams during that time. |

I would probably say a PSA MP5 for something recent that seems to have a bunch of people aggravated, including me. I just said fuck it and bought a PTR 9CT last christmas.
I'm currently on the "list" for a Tesla Cybertruck too. |

Quoted: Dicks Sporting Goods AR-15/Sandy Hook debacle. View Quote I had forgotten all about that shitshow. Dick's was incompetent at every step of the actual sale and then doubled down when they unilaterally terminated the sale after taking payment but wouldn't admit they had cancelled the orders. I actually ended up making some money when they refunded me with a check a couple weeks later after denying that I had prepaid them and forcing me to do a charge back through my bank to recover my money. |

To finally get mine, it was calls and calls, and emails later.... and I got pinched for another couple hundred dollars because Todd made 'upgrades'. Sure, I was on the train because HK stuff was twice as much, but it seemed like by the time it was done, it was only half again as much and I could have had a German gun. |

silencerco BOGO.
Eventually got it though. After the OG form 4 on the first item was approved. so not that bad. |

Waffle mags from MSAR (Aug clone) I believe they screwed @furrytaurus out of a lot of money.

L-Dubs IC rifle. Wasn’t L-Dubs fault, in my opinion. Dealers were taking pre-orders on rifles that hadn’t been released in any real quantity yet and customers became irate.
ETA: Also, that Desert Tech bullpup. Heard that was a football bat of a fiasco. |

Quoted: ORF MP5 receivers back in the mid-2000s. i still have the certificate for one if they ever get made... View Quote Shrike's got to be up there for pre-order fuck ups. Not a preorder, but pretty blatant mislabeling was Ammoman and the Vietnam SKS bringbacks. That guy also fucked me on Korean 30-06 that was supposed to be noncorrosive. Wanted to charge me shipping to return for that fuck up. Hope that guy gets herpes. |
