Either removing evidence and money implicating Fring, and/or directing/misdirecting Lalo and/or the cartel towards their patsies.
Remember it was the cartel/Juan Bolsa who came and opened the safe after Mike had done his switcheroo. Clearly they didn't throw Lalo off the chicken man, but may have at least deflected the cartel in general. |

the patsy was Nacho, but you might have noticed that Mike didn't put Nachos fathers ID back in the safe. He kept it out so nobody would think he was in on it and mess with him.

Musta missed the part when Juan came to open the safe. I do remember Mike holding on to the id... So that all makes sense now.

Mike planted evidence making Nacho look like the rat for the other gang, and also removed Nacho's dad's fake ID
