Considering buying a Doxa Sub 200.  Can buy directly from their website, can buy from an AD like Watches of Switzerland.  I've heard stories that direct Doxa customer service can be iffy, and it may be better to buy from Watches of Switzerland as they are more likely to exchange or go to bat with Doxa for the customer.

You guys have any insight or advice on this? Thanks.

I'd like one of those Sub 200s myself as a nice summer watch.  The blue and orange are nice.  I can't speak for the customer service though.

Having read way too many Dirk Pitt books, I am so tempted by the Sub 200 and / or 300.  Having never handled one in person, I'd say they are expensive for the specs, but damn do they look cool.  I read the lume isn't great, which is a big deal to me (seiko diver fanboy), but I'm still tempted....

yeah, Dirk Pitt is how I heard about Doxa in the 1970s.

I already built a Seiko Turtle into a fake Sub 300

and I have an orange-faced Seiko Samurai.

It's worth considering the Zeno 300sel too...

http://www.doxa300t.com/zeno/zeno.htm
https://doxa300t.com/250/250review.htm

There is a rumour that doxa had cases but no movements... zeno had movements...

The zeno is also available in a yellow dial variant.

Why is the sub 200 less than $1000???

Thanks, but, I can build a Sub 300 clone from Seiko parts for $500-$600.

Why is the sub 200 less than $1000???

It is their entry-level watch that is an homage to a model they offered in the ‘60s.
