What the best bet in the $3K range for an optic that you’d mount on a rifle. Is this Sig Echo 3 a decent option??

Avoid the Sig and big stores like optics planet.

Plenty of site sponsors will hook you up at competitive prices.

Exactly which thermal you need depends on your application. It’s like asking what pickup you should buy; it depends.

For me it will be mostly hunting hogs inside of 100 yards, typically shots are between 25-50 yards.

I currently have neither. In a perfect world I’d like to have a combination of night vision & thermal using different devices. Good night vision paired with something like a Flir Scout could probably work as well. I’m open to suggestions

Another vote for bering optics super hogster.

Great for longer ranges. If you don't have long range hunting get the hogster for wider field of view.

Hogster C is pretty sweet. Haven't gotten a chance to shoot with it yet.

Night vision to shoot thermal to scan. Night vision is where its at for accuracy and battery life thermal is for finding things.
