I've got a Toshiba Satellite laptop that's probably close to 7-8 years old. I use it for running the software for my vinyl printer.....and also surfing the web, email, and sometimes even some GoPro video editing (but it's slow as hell).  I need to replace it.....and now is a good time.

What's a good win laptop that's a decent price and has good performance? Can I still get something with Win10 on it? Maybe a SSD and decent RAM?

Suggestions? Not looking for a top of the line gaming rig...just something better than the old one I have now.

Thanks!!! ??

Last night, I bought a refurbished i7, 8GB, SSD, 1080P HD laptop by DELL.  It cost under $200 including tax and shipping.

Whether that's a good deal or a dog depends upon what your needs are and what you want.

I7 what gen?
That's a misleading post.

An older i7 will be a used laptop, terrible battery life and not alot of performance to a current gen processor.

I would look at an i5 over and i3.   Get at least 8GB of ram better if it has 12GB.   I would get the biggest SSD you can afford 512GB or 1TB if you can.

check out the Dell refurbished website, here is a link to their coupons and codes section, and then check out what laptops qualify for those.

They sold a bunch of 5400s a couple months ago when this was posted here.

Thanks! I just scored a Dell Latitude 5491 with expedited shipping for under $300. This will be a spare laptop for Mrs Diggerwolf's surfing.

If you’re editing raw video, I would recommend something with a large SSD, at least 16GB RAM and a reasonable GPU. A mid-tier gaming laptop would be suitable for this. I found out the hard way that a normal laptop with a modest RAM upgrade will not cut it for video editing.

I can’t really make any specific make/model recommendations because I use a homemade PC for that kind of stuff now, but it’s not hard to find a decent gaming laptop.

I grabbed one of the 5400s for me and a 5490 for my parents.  Great shape, plenty fast, batteries have excellent life.

Would recommend.
