I'm frugal. And the Benzomatic Torch is a great torch and decent solder gun for $30. Plus there are no cry baby instructions about using "pure" butane refills.

I buy those cheap butane torches ($5-6) you see at the check out lines at the grocery store. They will work outside even with a light wind.
