Iconic Jack Casady on signature White Rabbit, followed by the extended jam Spare Chaynge which is an epic bass performance on an instrumental jam.

When I want to hear bass, I go to Primus. Anything Les is in, I like.

Got to see Primus open for Tool in Orlando a few years back......a dream come true for me. What a show. Never got to see Primus as a headliner though.

Primus - Southbound Pachyderm live hallucino genetics 2004

Larry Graham is a beast too....I mean he basically created slap bass

Larry Graham - Killer Slap Bass

And Billy Sheehan....one of the only bassist that can hang with Vai and Gilbert

Eugene's genius lies in simultaneously adding bottom end and acting as a second guitarist melodically.

One of my favorite lesser known bands is the 90's British band Ned's Atomic Dustbin. They had 2 bass players, and used a unique high/low formula to structure the riffs and melodies, using a guitar to fatten up the sound. Very unique, and they were both very good bassists.

One of my favorite bass channels. The dude does lots of disco-era stuff (Chic, Jacksons, etc) with some Latin upright and is a phenomenal player:

Brian Ritchie from Violent Femmes is one of my faves. Please Do Not Go features some of his "lead bass" work.  Rocking the big acoustic bass guitar.

Another bass player that doesn't get many accolades but has stuck around being awesome since the early 80's is Lee Rocker (Stray Cats, etc). He kills on the standup, and stands up on his stand up.

He learned that way because when we were kids, left handed-basses were more expensive so it was easier for him to turn a right-handed bass upside down and play and no restring. He's such a great musician overall.
