Therefore, the killing of an enemy combatant in a just war is not murder. "Just war" is where the situation gets really complex though. But essentially, if two sides line up, both sets of combatants have decided their cause is worth more than their life- therefore you are not taking an innocent life. You didn't make the decision- they did. kill v. murder is the question. eta- that's Old Covenant, New Covenant means forgiveness is possible for any sin- even murder, with one exception- Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, or rather the sin of unbelief. Anyone can come to God, but first they must believe that He is. |

Some of the guys and I from my life group (basically a bible study) had this discussion before starting our lesson. We were all open to the possibility of sentient life beyond earth. I suggested that perhaps the innate desire for closeness to God that extends to nearly all cultures could be a purely human characteristic. The concept of God, whether mono or polytheistic, could be a completely foreign concept to aliens. |

How does one find their purpose? Tired of living in a system that doesnt serve God, feel like im not doing and wasted so much of my life living for a future that isnt going to happen. Marriage looks bleak, and believe my wife is living with cognitive dissidence about justifying in what their doing and don't no longer believe in our marital vows. I meant everything and will go to the bitter end of it all and we have kids, so how long does God expect me to put up with her being disloyal even if it's just emotional and I am just waiting for the death blow of the eventual actual act?

I do know that God breathed Adam's soul into him and our souls are from God's breath and our bodies are made from the dust of this Earth. Wether or not God does this at the moment of conception or not is an interesting question. I think He does, I could wrong. I would advise studying the subject for yourself. Good question. Here's a few scriptures that talk about your question: Ecclesiastes 12:7 and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it. So..... at 18 years old, if your newlywed wife dies in a tragic accident, then you marry another after 4 years or so, she gets knocked up on the honeymoon and dies in childbirth, then after some more years you get married again, and both live out a long happy life.
Now.... in the afterlife, are you gonna have 3 legit wives waiting, and will 2 of them still be young & hot and one is old.... what about a MFFF 4 way? Will that be legal? |

GOD provided forgiveness through Jesus's/God's substitutionary self sacrifice and resurrection. In the end many people will go to hell because they don't think they sinned or did anything wrong deserving punishment vs. humbling themselves before a perfect and all creator and accepting his love and forgiveness. However, God is perfection and only associates with perfection thus any sin or imperfection will be eternally separated from him (hell). This is why he himself became our perfect sacrifice. There are many beings God created but from the Bible it seems we are the pentacle and reason for creation. In Genesis chapter 1 God says, "let us make man in our image". Thank God for your blessings as I'm sure they are many. 3. Pray for forgiveness and pour out your heart to Him. 4. Study God's word. 5. Try and do His will each and every day. Remember, Jesus said you must be born again. |
