As I'm sure most of you know they are being sued.
Needless to say they can use our support financially... Here is the link to the fund raiser and Steve will comment as much as he can about the situation. So lets do what we do for one of our own. hit em up!! |

How are they saying ADCO should have known?
Are they just hoping they want to settle out of court or something? |
|
Did I see that @Bryan_AIM made a donation?
Would be nice to see some other industry partners jump in, as you never know when it will be them. Perhaps @Brownells can rally the troops? |

Thanks everyone!
I think this a significant cause for concern for all FFLs. I can't find any record of such a suit being filed before with anything remotely like this with absolutely damning evidence how this happened. Please read the linked document below. It contains everything I know. For those who aren't interested in details: Cliff Notes >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The complaint is public and can be found at the Lucas County Clerk of Courts. Just search for ADCO. The Police Report quoted below can be had from the Sylvania TWP records department #1255-20 Extracts of TXT messages sent on 07/02/2020 obtained by Sylvania TWP Police dept., Report 1255-20: 1:12 (37yr old female) “Can I ask you a huge favor? I want to buy a small pistol offline to get my shooting back on track but it needs to ship to a store and get picked up. Can I order it in your name and give you the money? We can pick it up next week” 1:20 (70yr old male) “why not buy it under your own name?” 1:33 (37yr old female) “long story” 1:40 (70yr old male) “this might be better to talk face to face” 1:44 (37yr old female) “qell can we just go pick one out” 1:45 (70yr old male) “pistol” 1:46 (37yr old female) “yes” 5:39 (37yr old female) “thanks for helping me-we might have to get a larger caliber, we can check out the other place sometime” 5:40 (70yr old male) “Okay” Extracts of Sylvania TWP detective interview with the 70yr old man on 07/30/2020 from Report 1255-20 “When I asked the 70yr old if he had any guns, he initially stuttered when responding, but eventually said, “Only one and this is one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made.” The 70yr old further stated that the 37yr old wanted a gun, but was afraid that she couldn’t get one because she had a history of being in a mental institution. I informed the 70yr old that the 37yr old was dead and it appeared that she killed herself with the gun that he had purchased for her. I explained to the 70yr old that he had committed a crime by buying a gun for someone that is prohibited from purchasing or possessing one and he replied, “I can imagine.” The 70yr old was charged federally and convicted for lying on a federal form and get this - sentenced to 10 months house arrest. PUBLIC DOCUMENTS - PLEASE READ |

If he lied on the form, how is ADCO responsible. He checked the right boxes!

In and donated.
I need to send you guys some more work, you did a 13.7 pin and weld job for me a few weeks ago that turned out great! Couldn't believe how fast the turn around was as well. Wishing you all the best. |

I've read all the public documents. ADCO did nothing wrong. The poor girl had real issues, but it's not ADCO's fault at all. The two conspired to make a straw purchase in advance, the text messages are clear. Obviously they would make sure they didn't do anything that would have tipped the seller off. This is clearly a cash grab by the plaintiffs. Also, if you look up the attorney who filed the complaint and the law firm, you'll learn that they are anti-gun crusaders who have worked with the Brady Bunch and would happily put an FFL out of business for no reason.
ADCO needs our financial support to fight this! I donated last night and will continue to donate over time. |

I'm in and donated, but $25K will only scratch the surface; "justice" is expensive. Once ADCO spends to their insurance deductible and the insurance company takes over, I fear they will settle to avoid the huge cost to get through discovery and trial prep. Here's hoping something in OH or Federal law can be used to pre-empt and dismiss.

Money sent. Would be nice to see damages awarded on a countersuit
ETA I would be against filing suit against the old man for buying the firearm. |
|
I hope the case gets tossed out and he walks away with a few $100k in extra money from this evil frivolous lawsuit.

If I still lived down there, I'd go to the shop and buy a bunch of stuff.
