My mom had a ton of 8 tracks when i was a kid.
Usually Johnny Cash in the player. I don't think my dad ever owned any music. When i was a teenager he always had his radio tuned to WLLR (all country, all the time) Although he never listened to the radio when others were in the car. |

Any Fleetwood Mac song from Rumors and Tusk. Overall, the songs are nice on the surface, but once you get to understand the lyrics, and why they were written...explains my Mom and Dad's animosity towards one another. Affairs, alcohol, and "mild" drug usage all intertwined, coupled with immaturity - I and my Sis didn't know about it or put 1 and 1 together until we were "adults".

Lots, but father and son by cat Stevens comes to mine. My parents were sort of late/younger/last if the “hippies”. Dad did not serve and had high draft number....later end up in the sand box with cadaver dog. Both parents were conservative in values. Guess you could say classical liberal or small l libertarian. They’ve always been or in my fathers case were very pro America but did not want war, while being adults with working minds realize what you want and reality don’t always mesh.

My mother loved to dance back in the day. Ran across this this Martina Mcbride cover of one of my mom's old favorites. Put me in mind of her.
 Pick Me Up On Your Way Down My dad would dance with my mom, but I seldom ever heard him mention favorite music. I do recall him always letting this old Freddy Fender tune play if on the car radio. I figured he liked it, but would never openly admit it. About six months before he died I was helping him at the house. I was bluetoothing some of my playlist in the truck as we did repairs. There are SO many. But I can't hear this one without being immediately transported back in time to being a small child, listening to this song with my parents... and sometimes they even pulled their acoustic guitars out and played and sang it. I mostly didn't appreciate the songs they listened to, but I sure as hell do the older I get.

 Green Green Grass Of Home , Porter Wagoner , 1965 Although it seems to me l remember Tex Ritter covering it. However l couldn't find it. But this was one of dad's favorite songs. Or any song from his album "White Lightning Express". Or anything Hank Williams who was dad's favorite performer. Mom really liked Hank Snow, but no particular song comes to mind. But she and l would watch the Porter Wagner Show every Saturday just before she started fixing supper. That's when l fell in love with Miss Dolly. |

Mom played Jim Reeves all the time when I was a kid, loved his voice. Dad never really listened to music much as I recall. He liked to listen to religious stations while driving, he rarely played music at home or in the car.
