Hey...  So I've got a fridge and second battery in the back of the Jeep.  I've got a charge controller mounted to the battery box and a 100W panel mounted on the roof rack.  That gets it done 80% of the time.

But I've also got a Renogy 40A DC-DC charger that I'm trying to figure out where to mount.  It seems to me that there must be some "golden" place to hang it, but it escapes me as to where that would be.

Ideas?

I have seen them mounted under the jack tray. But it seems like it would get really hot and muddy there.

Not on my wrangler but on my trailer that plugs into the Jeeps power. Buy Victron.

Here is the one I have.

Amazon Product
  • For use in dual battery systems in vehicles or on boats where the alternator and the start battery are used to charge the service battery

Yeah. Both of those would be bad.   The air clearance on all good DC-DC chargers is significant.

I do like Victron gear.   I've designed systems with their equipment before.   The Renogy I have was free (and new).  So I'm use it till it let's me down.
