After the last 4 years of bullshit I have decided to stop following politics altogether. The left wants to make this country burn to the ground, have at it. I will just wait until the fighting starts. In the meantime, I am going to enjoy my life without the stress of national politics bogging me down.
Closed FB Account, Removed all political stuff on IG, stopped watching news/clips and on here I just try to ignore anything in General that would lead me back down that rabbit hole. I'm not a head in the sand kind of guy, I will continue to prepare my family for whatever may come but the stress is not worth it at this point. |
They want you to quit. Fuck that. I’m not going down without a fight
No.
I've never benefited by not knowing what's going on in the world around me. |
This is the only place I see or talk about politics.
I don't watch it or listen to it anymore. Arfcom is a good filter to get to the point. |
Nope, you’re not the only one. Feels good to not give a dam anymore.

Bolsheviks/Marxists/communists have a strong hatred for God and privately-owned firearms for a reason.
If you are a gunner the politics comes along with the territory. If you ignore it, you could be another Kalifornia. |

I'm 62 and I was talking with a friend this morning who's older than I. I kind of think it's over for the US. But, it won't be fast. The demographics are eventually going to third world us. It will still be somewhat livable the rest of my life, most likely.
If I was thirty or even forty, I might decide that I really needed to do something. But, I'm going to leave that fight to the people who will have to live through the hell that's coming. If they don't care enough to fight it, I sure don't care. Because, you want to know what the one thing that would be worse than Trump losing this election through voter fraud, by a factor of one hundred? The fact that he didn't lose it, and a majority of voters really want to tear this country down and replace it with some sort of socialist welfare utopia. If that is true, no amount of anger or dedication to the Constitution can fix that. |

I'm taking a little break from it. Will be back. The fight isn't over.
I’m trying to balance being informed without getting too worked up over all the bullshit. It’s not easy.
I tried but couldn't get politics to leave me alone, so here I am.
I'm more engaged than ever. |
I still pay attention to what's going on but I quit caring. Life is much less stressful now.
At this point there's not much I can do until it's time to pop pmags. |
I will continue to be involved in real-life politics - voting, contacting my legislators, etc, - but I'm done with "social media."
Nuked my FB account, never really used Twitter, IG, or any of the others. Just gonna keep my head down, and do the shit I need to do. Arfcom will be one of the few places I visit online. |
Just because one is not interested in politics does not mean politics is not interested in them.
Wish I could but got to stay informed and maybe the states will save us if we keep voting locally
The Marxist have changed the rules in the middle of the game. Laws don't apply to them - I can name a dozen high profile democrat politicians admitting on camera their felonies and nothing happens. |
Took out social media last year and dumped Fox , but I can't just ignore whats going on right now. Sometimes I wish I could be more ignorant about it , but if we all look the other way it will surely be the end.
Pretty much did the same starting around 2 years ago. Almost nothing ever comes of “the latest bombshell” so why waste my precious time and energy on something that does not matter at all?
I've cut out news but I have personally become more involved. I've been on the Zoom meetings asking "what data can you provide that demonstrates your proposed benefit?" Most of the time they don't have the numbers but will get back to me. I show up the next meeting asking if they retrieved the data. I want it on record they did or did not provide more than "it feels right."
Township board meetings, school board meetings |

I've stopped engaging where it doesn't matter. I am very involved locally, I write my local and national representatives regularly, and I disseminate information as much as possible.
I quit watching any "news" a year ago because it's all bullshit propaganda.
Still try to keep up on what is going on a little so I know what the commies are scheming next. |
I don't let it run my life anymore...I tell people "wake me up when it's go time".

Am not signing up for Parler or Gab. The smaller online footprint the better as I don't want the surveillance state knowing what I'm thinking. The most miserable people I've met were the ones glued to cable news. This applies to the left and right. |

Maybe you can ignore the politics but unfortunately, the politics will not ignore you.
White, Male, Gunowners are about to become the target of a terrible Leftist pogram. You think it already started? You ain’t seen nothing yet. You can pretend it isn’t happening right up until you are awakened by a no-knock warrant in the middle of the night. Like the Trail Of Tears, Jim Crow, EO9066 or The Holocaust, it will all be perfectly legal and all perpetrated by Democrats/Socialists. |

In a representative republic, we elect people to represent us so we don't have to spend all our time dwelling on politics. I skim the headlines occasionally, but the vast majority of the time I'm out living my life and ignoring the BS of politics.
I'll always vote but the day-to-day shit is down right disgusting and depressing.
Fuck all that. |
I've never been a fan of politics or politicians. Tend to make a 180 if one comes into the room. Also I have been an unaffiliated voter since I first registered in 1980. Even back then I had a sense that the parties were only out for themselves.
I give it up everyday at some point but the next morning I go right back to checking the news to see what is happening. I like being punished. That’s my fetish.
Nope, you don't have a chance of winning this war when your head is in the sand.
Yep, I am in the same situation OP. Was registered as a Republican my whole life until 2 weeks ago. Done with politics and voting since our vote doesn't count anyway. There will never be a fair election anymore. I am just going to try to enjoy whatever years I have left and get my political news from here.
