Suggest sauté w/ onions and serve with a very good ribeye steak.....
 On a serious note, suspect it is ph and/or soil chem composition creating your problem. Maybe a soil test at yur local farm co-op (or related) might help you. Good luck! Edit: Noticed you use a mulch at that location. I’ve experienced similar problems with mulch added to our yard. That could be the source of the toadstools? |

They definitely sprouted out of the mulch. Want them dead before they spread anywhere else.

Mushrooms are a fungus and help break down decaying organic matter. They are beneficial to any lawn because the organic matter is breaking down adding nutrients to your soil.
They thrive in damp, shady areas that have lots of rich organic matter......like caves where they grow mushrooms for eating. If you don't want them, do something about the mulch they are feeding on. Rake out the area, replace the mulch, improve drainage. You can use a fungicide but thats not addressing the problem. |

They popped up in my yard for the first time this year...and coincidentally it has been the wettest summer for years. I turned my sprinklers off and they were gone within a week. I also lowered my grass height from 3" to 2.5" so the sun dries it up quicker.

They feed on organic matter in the presence of sufficient moisture. Mushrooms and toadstools will not take over anything. Just get a rake and rake the mulch. Poof. They're gone. When frost hits, or dry weather, they will disappear. They are not like a weed that will seed and spread in a way that will harm your landscape. Yes, they sporulate. Don't worry about that. They are living on the mulch and helping to break it down. If you hate the look of them, just rake the mulch. Spraying them is overkill, and you will basically be killing something that is beneficial. |
