I know this is old, but you may want to look at the Aluminum training bars, they are 15#...coupled with some 5# oly training weights allows a bar to be set up and stay in a comfortable weight range for a nine year old.

I ordered the Starting Strength one a few weeks ago. I hope it gets here by 7/19 or else I am going to print a screenshot and wrap that

Update- The SS bar Still hasn’t arrived. I did get a boneyard Rogue Junior which is awesome.
And the nephew loves it
