Just to let you know I am NOT into model trains.

BUT

I was given a pretty extensive N Gauge model train set, the story is a local man built this set and from what I can see put his life into this set. Well he died and his widow not knowing what to do with it gave it to a local family so they can play with this. But this family has 7 kids and this thing was taking up too much room in their home and they figured it was not something suited to small children and their older kids did not want to have anything to do with this set.

Which where I come in, I have a friend in GA that is into model trains and I was going to give this to him but life happened and I now find myself having to move to Ohio for work. I live in Virginia BTW. My friend cannot come to pick up this set before we have to move and I am stuck with a model train set that I don't want or need.

So here is my offer, anyone here want this thing? You come pick it up I am in the north west part of Virginia near Winchester. The base is on a 4x8 sheet of plywood and is very detailed, lights, moving switching turntable. With about 25 engines and some 40 cars with controllers and speakers for sounds.

Local train club maybe?

I'm in east central Ohio and we have a model club at our fairgrounds that has a awesome set up.  And a club that does bigger ones that are outdoors you can ride in.  Maybe there is something local to you.

I would love to have that.
I'm your town to me, let me make some calculations ($$)

Thanks

I'm not going to be able to get a vehicle capable of transporting it.  It won't fit in my Challenger.

I must withdraw from your very generous offer..

Thanks, but I am still in Virginia and have no intention of dragging this to Ohio.

I'll see what I can find in Virginia

That's a really nice little set that someone put a shit ton of time and money into. Hope it goes to a good home.

That's awesome!

Too bad I didn't see this. My daughters love their train set...they just have a tiny one with no scenery (Kato N Scale). This would have been perfect.  Glad the local club was able to take it off your hands!

A great way to set up N scale is on hollow core doors.

n scale layout on a hollow core door

Doors are fantastic. Buld my giant scale RC planes on solid core doors, I buy the ones with no doorknob hole.
