Drove up to the Cabela's in Tulalip this morning to kill some time. Bunch of guys hovering around empty ammo shelves, waiting on the employees to bring out their 5-box ration

Heck they're living the dream then as Academy has a three box limit and Gander is one box !

Wait a while, you'll trade all your ammo for some TP or a can of beans.

MMMMM, $5 boxes of 9mm ammo back in the day. Ever see a Buick drag it's ass down the road with 15K+ of 9mm and .45 acp ammo loaded in the trunk and back seat.

.40 don't count. Almost as worthless as .22 CB cap. There are reasons its almost the last thing left on the shelf.

Pros buy ammunition online View Quote Lol...my fort is full but I can go to Bass pro here in town on most Fridays mid morning when they stock shelves and get winchester 150 rnd boxes for $75 with a 5 box limit. Well maybe not every Fri but I did for 3 or 4 wks straight. I can't even find it online at that price. 50cpr is gravy in this market. |

Got a neighbor who has 4 kids and wife and he uses them to buy ammo rations

My local Cabela's had some 12 gauge yesterday but not much else.
One box of 300WSM, one box of 338 Lapua, that was basically it, they had reduced the size of the ammo section considerably. Guns were pretty much gone too, aside from revolvers and 1911s. |

I’m not buying but Cabelas has ammo regularly but not for long. 9mm is $14 + and people were scooping it up. 10 mm $22 and no one was buying.
Cabelas on sale prices with 5% points and no shipping was not a bad place to shop in the salad days. |

Chain stores are slow to adjust prices to a changing market. Used to be online was cheaper. Chain store prices stayed the same while online prices have risen to insane levels.
So now those “expensive” chain stores have become the best place to get ammo at “normal” prices |

Or if the cashier likes you. |
|
[#34]
I haven't seen a box of 556 ball in a store in going on 6 months.

[#35]
The Cabelas in Delaware recently went to a 1 box per caliber per person per day and line went from back of store to front, same for cash register 20 minutes after they opened . Have a similar sign for reloading components. They block the ammo aisle off and let one person walk thru at a time. They also had a cashier pointing out to the other ones the people she had seen come thru earlier.

My cabelas has had nothing for months. Gotta actually have ammo in stock to ration it. Starting to think they are not stocking ammo in urban areas intentionally. Seems like more rural stores still get some restock.

OP fails to mention they're still selling 9mm at 28 cpr, and 40 at 32 cpr.
