If Rittenhouse gets $22 mil from The View because of their slander then the parents of Sandy Hook get $+40 mil for slander from Jones.
Will it be weaponized by the Left? Sure. But don’t we do it too? (Sandberg, Rittenhouse, Jewell and now Trump) |

Quoted: I haven't been following this whole Sandy Hook Alex Jones thing. What exactly is he accused of doing? As far as I understand, he merely expressed some very insensitive opinions. View Quote Having an opinion is one thing. Announcing to an audience that specific people are actors and faked the incident is something completely different. Think of it this way. Your neighbor gets on the radio and says "Some of my neighbors are probably pedophiles and I believe they kidnap and fuck little kids in the butt." Thats his opinion. Now suppose he gets on the radio and says "My neighbor Greenhorn is a pedophile and he fucks little kids in the butt." Its a blatant lie about a real person, right? But your reputation is ruined. You're fired. People harrass you in the street. When you go to get the mail there are always death threats. People call you at 3 AM, wake you up, and scream "FUCK YOU KIDDY FUCKER" and then hang up. See the difference? You can have an opinion. You can't lie about a specific person to the point that their life is ruined. Thats called "damages." |

People are just out of their fucking minds anymore. This obviously has nothing to do with "justice." A few million might be a reasonable judgement. 50 million is state sanctioned theft.

I haven't been following the case and I don't know what statements landed him in hot water, but he's not entirely wrong. There are legitimate questions about how Hogg had a full-blown media organization working with him before all of the brass had hit the floor, and about some of the "crisis actors" who appeared on camera as parents of multiple victims at multiple events.
I could only hope that this will be chewed up and spit out after about 30 seconds in front of an appellate court. This is the "judge" in this case, so I'm sure that examples of bias will be easy to find in the transcripts. Attached File |

He was accusing parents who's kids were murdered of being crisis actors. His moron audience was harassing them. This kind of behavior should be discouraged and losing large amounts of money is a good discouragement. Just like the MAGA hat kid got paid by CNN for slandering him. Would you rather have a world where, if you're rich and powerful enough, you can lie and destroy individuals who are powerless to fight back? |

Some news outlet accused you of being an actor, that your kid never existed and the whole event was made up. You had people harassing you at your house and when you went out in public. At least it's just civil court. My understanding is that civil judgements/verdicts don't carry as much weight in other courts. Also, idk if this was federal or a state court. You can't slander the dead. So anything he may said about the kids is out. Calling someone an 'actor' has never been held to be defamatory. Saying something didn't happen isn't even directed at a person.
Calling Rittenhouse a racist murderer, is specific, and defamatory. These verdicts are 100% 'feelz'. |

This sort of thing will come back to haunt us all. You can't call it a sham trial when he didn't even fucking show up in the first place. Yes you can. I haven't been following it closely but catching some the Viva Frei and Barnes video and a few others there were a lot of procedural oddities and things that should have been resolved first and gotten the trial moved. What's the point of showing up if you keep turning over requested materials and they keep tossing it and telling you that you haven't turned over the material you just tried to give them? Jones made mistakes (apparently a lot of them) but apparently had bad council. And yeah, even watching a few minutes of the trial you could tell the judge is nuts. I'm not a lawyer and never played one, just going on what various lawyers have said. Not a fan of Jones, but this whole thing was ridiculous. Some of y'alls hatred really clouds your vision. |
