I was checking out Titan Outdoors' instagram page and they posted this santa maria style kettle grill attachment in use. In the pic it looks like they have lots of wood going underneath it.

In looking for a kettle grill, most say they are suitable only for charcoal since wood burns too hot. Could I take a grill to a metal shop have them add a layer of some type of metal to reinforce?

Can anyone offer any suggestions for a kettle style grill that might work for this project? I really want to get into santa maria style grilling to complement my smoker but most are upwards of $1k and to use once or twice a month is a little out of my budget. This attachment looks like a nice piece of kit.

Look into pre-fabbed fire pits, mine came with big grill top.

Obviously i didnt use grill part when i made this recipe. It wouldn't be hard to raise it up to working height. Might be more primitive then what your looking for.

The one you posted is just begging to get knocked over, esp. with cast iron attachments. Id want something sturdier. But i do like that attachment, id like something similar for firepit
