I picked up a new to me honda foreman and in addition to just using it around the house I'll be riding on forest roads and whatever town roads I need to in order to get to the forest roads. I don't anticipate doing anything stupid on the machine but mostly concerned about other people in vehicles and atv I might encounter on some of these roads.

I've spent some time around 4 wheelers as a kid but overall haven't ridden much, seen plenty of things not to do on them and I know how easy they are to crash so looking at getting a helmet.

I think the one I want is a Bell mx9 adventure. Reason being it's got MIPS, a face shield I can use when I don't necessarily want to wear goggles and it looks like a quality helmet but not overly expensive.  I don't need a $1k helmet for what I'll be doing.

Some riding will be in the winter during hunting season where it can get down to single digit so I thought the added benefit of a helmet with a shield is keeping my head warm. I know this one has some vents that can't be closed but I thought I could out tape over them if needed.

Any others I should be seriously looking at that I may have missed before I go and buy something?  I was going to go to the local dealer and try them on in person, I don't know what they have in stock but I know they carry bell so I assume they will have the mx9 since it seems to be very popular.

I like the modular snowmobile style for colder weather use.

And I like using a mountain/downhill bike style helmet for warmer weather use.

I've had the exact helmet for a few years now.

Atv riding in the winter or removing snow I sometimes wear a balaclava mask.

Summer time on my dual sport bike or trail riding on the Atv it's no problem with the face shield up and sunglasses on.

Decent helmet for the price.

Thanks. Mulled it over more and decided to order the mx9 adventure.

Tip:

If you remove the face shield and run it under very hot everything washes off without scratching shield.

I've got it pretty muddy or dusty atv riding and bugs galore while riding motorcycle.   Take off, run under hot water, maybe some dish soap and scub lightly with fingertips.
Dry with air compressor.

Once you get it cleaned use a UN scented drier sheet and wipe it down on the outside and it will work like rain-X. Dust and water won’t stick as bad.

Great tips thank you. I only rode the bike down the road a couple miles so far and could tell immediately something with a shield would be nice feeling the little bugs hitting me in the face along the way.
