Well now that is interesting...Things you learn from FOIA disclosures.
Using an informant during forfeiture litigation to get inside the other teams huddle.....That's how the Department of Just-Us rolls folks. It creeped out the inhouse ATF attorney who claims to have reported it to someone....Not the court, not my attorney. edited to add: Harry Foster of ATF Chief Counsels Office was appointed a Special AUSA for the case. He was required to inform my attorney and the court upon finding out and instead ran a rigged game in Federal court here in Atlanta. Way to go Harry! You just got caught cheating! Hmmmm...
Not surprised and not expecting much, but will be interested to see where this case ends up. |

TIL you can arrest a firearm and file a criminal complaint against it.

Is this the MAC-10 upper they said was a firearm or a different screwing?

Can you elaborate on what’s going on here? View Quote During the trial ATF employee used an informant to garner inside information on the case from the other side. ATF sent in a spy in a federal case to the opposing side!. It freaked out the attorney at ATF. Look if it freaks out an ATF attorney you know it has to bad....REALLY BAD. |

I presume you sent that bottom email to someone and it wasn't ATF?

We just had an AUSA who was found to be leaking grand jury material. Guess what? The DOJ declined to prosecute.
It's clear that there are NO moral or ethical guidelines applicable to DOJ attorneys. Do you think the attorneys receiving this information didn't know its source? I have never been so disgusted with big.gov. |

I’m going to make a citizens arrest on all firearms in RCC1s collection. Thanks for the info OP!

So the gov gets an informant passing them info that is client-attorney privileged. And we're not a banana republic how?

If anything this just seems like part of the truth to the mythical ATF boogieman that we fear will use all their power to go after an individual they want; with no recourse. |

I'm less offended by their dirty tricks than I am the fellow replying with the whole "we should all aspire to the same" nonsense.

One of my favorite parts of your FOIA posts are the emails sigs of the various ATF employees

Just-US claims that property has no rights, no right to trial by the way either, no right to bail, nope they just take your shit and tell to FOAD. ATF does this over 250,000 times a year. IMHO, one of the biggest problems this nation has is the convoluted logic and mental gymnastics the government will purpose to ignore or side-step the original intent of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
|
|
Just shows the level of contempt that many in our government have for "us".
You (presumably an 07/SOT) send a prototype to them for approval and not only do they not approve it but seize your property? They then spend tens of thousands of dollars of "our" money and involve CIs to try to "win" their case over the seizure of a $400 product. |

Dumb question Being unfamiliar with the firing mechanism myself. As submitted, the firearm had no trigger group installed. Does that mean there was also no sear? If so, then the firearm essentially fired at it's cyclic rate, which makes sense. That is not unusual. I've been the proud user of an M-4 that the sear broke on and had the pleasure of a cyclic M-4 at the range during qual. And since there was no trigger group, how on God's green earth can someone equate that it can fire more then one round with the trigger mechanism. It's rhetorical, I know. The ATF can. I did laugh at zip ties and duct tape. ETA: Apparently I have a bunch of machine guns if pull out the trigger and sear. |
|
So you sent an email of your proposed strategy to someone that was not an ATF agent and the ATF ended up with that email, correct?

Reading the emails related to the case, the amount of jerking each other off at the ATF is ridiculous! Good job this and great work that.
Why is it considered success if they get a forfeiture? Shouldn't they be in favor of a US firearms manufacturer producing a new product? You know, supporting a business which pays taxes and all that jazz? |
|
But the guy evaluating it has “four plus” years with the atf. That kind of experience is beyond reproach.....
|

The ATF threatened their own senior agents with:
* Hiring cartel assassins to break and enter the employee's residence * Filming themselves raping the employee's family * Murdering the employee's family * Burning the house down * Laying the blame on the employee for the murder/arson It's all on CleanUpATF.org This was against a whistle-blower who had been in the ATF for 2 decades doing a lot of UC work. If they're willing to do that to their own, think of where we as citizens fall on that totem pole. And there's nothing you can do about it other than take care of your family, make more money, and enjoy the American dream. |
