I know Arfcom is trying to make money but please use something other than redirect vigilink, whatever that is. When someone hotlinks to a deal, I used to be able to copy the link to text and edit it to figure out where the link is trying to go. Now it appears to be more difficult. Most hotlinks either are killed by Firefox or go to the wrong product. This happens both on my phone and laptop.

I just don’t go to the product or search for it myself as I’m not turning off the Web Filter rules in my router which blocks that crap.

Viglink is a plague on the internet

Those links do work and lead to the right product, so my thought is some add-on is altering the link on your end. Either it's trying to block it or deconstruct it.

FYI, Viglink is an affiliate partner, so they help to show the click started here and led to the vendor, which we then gain a small commission on any sale.

They “lead right to the product” after about 4 redirects and a bunch of tracking BS happens.

Not always. Some links go to the home pages, such as with Home Depot. Some links go to the wrong product. That happens with Midway USA. It's definitely not just me.

You can't fault the web site owners for wanting to make money; it keeps the forum up.

I haven't dealt with click thru trackers in a while, but I believe the tracking can be done by tracking the click events on the HTML anchor tag, while keeping the URL original and not rewriting it to a viglink.

That might require using a different tracking vendor besides viglink though.
