This is for folks using the EE.
Scammers are getting around the wtb /wts restrictions in a couple of ways.
We've caught them giving another scammer fake feed back to get around the 5 positive feed back restriction.
They are now buying a team membership as well.
We can't stress enough to do your due diligence when entering in to a transaction.
Be wary of accounts with a recent join date and or just 5 positive feed backs.
Do a reverse image search to see if the picture is posted somewhere else.
Ask for a picture of the item sitting on a piece of paper with your user name on it or a screen capture of them holding the item in front of their monitor with your thread open on it.
These methods aren't fool proof but adding steps to the transaction hopefully will discourage them from continuing.
They are looking for a quick deal.
Our admin's are working on tools to better deal with scammers but even then..don't let your guard down.
We have had quite a few accounts "hacked" in the last few weeks.
The hacker is getting access to peoples accounts on other sites and trying the password on other sites.
We've been fortunate that no one here has got burned yet in the EE.
I would strongly suggest if you haven't changed your password in a while to do just that and use all 20 characters allowed.
Use everything, lower case, upper case, numbers, symbols and don't use the same password on other sites.
This won't guarantee anything but it certainly will make it more difficult for the hackers.
