Will try the passenger side next to see if I can lie down at an angle.

I have often, but I'm like 5'8. I've seen one of my taller friends sleep in the back of his and he just leaves the tailgate open.

The slide out cargo tray makes a really nice level platform from front to back,, I just put a memory foam roll down on top of that. Rangler nets over the rear windows so they can roll down and not get eaten by mosquitos.

Except when its pouring rain for days on end and you just don't feel like setting up and taking down a tent in all that mess That's usually when I end up just sleeping in the 4R.

For those of you that ordered from RCI, did you get your Shipping notification pretty much immediately and then had to wait for like 2-4 weeks for you stuff to ship?  I know they have their wait times but seems strange to send shipping notification if you aren't going to ship it.

I have two swags, one Grizzly(?) and an ARB Skydome.
Like with most things, ARB is by far the nicest of the two.

So my Garmin Dash Cam 56 should arrive on Monday.  I decided to go ahead and wire up the Parking Model cable today.  So I should be ready to just mount the dashcam and be set.

Every time I’ve ordered, it takes no more than ten days to arrive at my door. Maybe I’m just lucky?

Mine goes under the knife today. Stay tuned!

Does it cover up the internal 12v plug?

There's a cutout for it, but no opening for a wire to pass through the lid. I drilled a wire passthrough hole and put a rubber grommet in the hole to protect the wire.

Just got through this whole thread and lots of info.
I just picked up our New 21 SR5 Premium last Wednesday. This will be my 3rd 4runner. 1988, new. 2001 with 96k on it and this one. This will be the wife's DD and she has already voiced her opinion on how much modding I can do which is not much. LOL
We drove a TRD OR and it was perfect for me but she wanted a sunroof and 3rd row seats, grand kids you know.
I do have a few questions though for you guys.
This thing has the LED fogs and dim lights from factory. The brights are Halogen which is a yellow color when on, looks stupid. I am looking for a bulb option LED or halogen which will whiten the color. Would prefer LED.
Does the sprint booster improve the throttle response through the whole cycle or just off idle. Lag is noticeable to me, probably not my wife.

No no, its not bad at all. The plug is completely unobstructed, and once I added a hole I can get a wire coming out of the console like before. It was all of a 5 minute modification. I put the hole right in front of the lid, its not big enough to compromise the security at all.

well i think its more that the modification has to be made in order to still use that plug.  i guess its so that people can't easy try to ply up the safe out of the console.

Took 5 minutes. Theres a couple of bolts on the bottom of the console under the rubber/felt pad. The safe drops in and  bolts down there. There are several options. The Toyota OEM for around $275, the chinese knock off clones for under 200, and the Lockrdown model for 300 plus. I went with the OEM. Mine has a small hole for a charging wire and access to the 12v outlet.

Drove over to the hardware store with it on there and found myself worrying that someone was going to steel the Rotopax. Guess I need the locking hardware.

Sounds fun. I rarely have any time to go wheeling though.

I would hit the crappily maintained county road by my parents place but one of the neighbors finally complained enough for them to come out and repair it. It's not nearly as fun any more.

If your suspension is set up correct, catching air isn’t too bad. I’ve done it. Not to that extent,  but I’ve left the ground a few times. A couple of that few were unintentional.

When we bought ours a month ago he said they are lasting a couple days and they are taking whatever the factory will send them then they are gone. Had like 3 in stock that day.

Installed Diode Dynamics LED reverse lights last night.
https://www.diodedynamics.com/backup-leds-for-2001-2021-toyota-4runner-pair.html

I went with the crazy bight ones (720 lumen).

What should've taken 5 minutes at most. Took 45 minutes when the LED bulb fell into the driver side tail light housing.

Had to take off the housing to get it out of there using tweezers. Then found the DD bulb didn't really want to stick in the connector. Fiddled with it for awhile then finally got it to somewhat stick and put it all back together.

Will see if it falls out on a big bump.

Used this video to get the gist of the install:
4Runner LED Reverse Light Install

Plus this article on removing the tail light housing.

there are a few app based ones but they appear to be subscription based service.  The stock one is pretty expensive...etc.  It seems like unless you are willing to pay for it and do it yourself, you are going to get raped.
