The Simplest Math Problem No One Can Solve - Collatz Conjecture

This video popped up today, and it reminded me something a TA mentioned when I was in university that if I could solve it I would win the Nobel Prize.

I've always been fascinated with 3x+1.

I tried explaining it to my wife and she had the same question... How is that an unsolvable problem, you keep solving it over and over. Haha.

Think we will ever find a random loop outside of the 4-2-1 loop?

There.

I got as close as anybody else to solving the problem.

Fractals baby. It's all fractals. And ball bearings, these days.

In polynomial terms the multiplication has always taken precedence.
Why should these terms be evaluated differently?

3x^2 + 3^x + 1.
It is taken as (3 * x * x) + (3 * x) + 1
