Small update for today.

Next Monday is when I will start doing 400 pushups daily M-F.  That will go for 5 weeks until I get to 30,000.

Today's workout involved walking ½ a mile, running 1 mile, and doing 30 pullups.

Tomorrow I'll drop the pullup count to 20, but employ my chain belt and somewhere between 10 and 25lbs.  I'll also be doing dips with it.  No idea on count yet for that motion.

Today's workout(s) were a bit varied in their times today.  I decided to run to the shop to pick up my wife's car which was about a mile from home, so when the rain cleared for a bit, I did a mile there to get her car.  It turns out there was one thing they forgot to take care of, so later in the day, I ran over there again.  I've not run 2 miles in the same day for many years.

I couldn't even tell.  That's good.

I just completed 500 pushups this evening as well, putting me at 46,000 for the year.

60 @ 1920.  0:42
60 @ 1923.  0:42
60 @ 1926.  0:42.
60 @ 1929.  0:43.

50 @ 1938.  0:32.
50 @ 1941.  0:33.
50 @ 1944.  0:33.

I'll be looking forward to doing longer runs now, especially when the daytime highs get out of this "climate emergency" I'm told we're in

I teach people how to have 2 strong hands instead of one support hand and one strong hand.

You never know when you'll have to operate operationally with your non-dominant support side.

Since today marks day 1 after turning 43, I figured I should go shoot a bit.

Got to the range around 1100 and ran one of my LMT MWS 308s for a while and one of my Glocks too.  I also picked up a Wilton bullet vise from my SIL who has a house near my range.

My pushup sets were started this evening at 1926 and I did a set every 3 minutes until complete.

80-70-50-50-50-50-50-50-50.

59,000 YTD.

So today begins the jump to 3000 pushups/wk for the next 3 weeks.

I started at 1436 today with one of my ammo cans full to the tune of 42lbs.  10 curls per arm x 6.

Each phase of my workout today occurred every 3 minutes.

My first 5 sets of pushups were all 60 reps each and I did 10 more sets of 50 to reach 800.

Tomorrow I'll do 700 pushups, and then 500 on Wednesday, Thurs, and Friday.

By 30SEP2022, I'll reach 70k as I plan on doing a 1000 rep single day after a 5-6 day recovery time to see how quickly I can complete.

I can already tell I'm ahead of my last time since I used 18 minutes for sets of curls today.

I just want to know what improvement I've made.

Let's keep getting after it.

I'm pretty sure today marks the first time I've completed 1500 pushups inside of 24 hours.

I began at 1430 today and most sets were completed every 4 minutes, however some only had 3 minute intervals.

1430 to 1514:36.  80-70-50-50-50-50-50-50-50-50-50-50-50.

Wednesday through Friday will be 500 each day.

It's hard to imagine that sometime in 2021, I was doing 1700 per week.

Today marks 2000 pushups done in a 3 day span.

After Monday's curls doing 60 reps per arm with a 42lb ammo can, I decided to do 50 today and 40 on Friday.  That'll take me to 150 for the week.

My pushups start with 80 and 70 and finished out the remaining sets with 50 each.

Tomorrow will be 500 pushups with Friday being curls and pushups to finish the week.

Today begins week 2 of 3 where I complete 3000 pushups.

I'm going for 800-700-600-500-400 this week.

My sets will begin at 1555 and my target time is 1640 to complete.

1555.  100 reps in 1:41.

1559.  60 reps in 0:44.

1602.  60 reps in 0:43.

1605.  60 reps in 0:44.

1608.  60 reps in 0:45.

1611.  60 reps in 0:49.  28 minutes to get 400 done.

1614.  50 reps in 0:35.

1617.  50 reps in 0:35.  300 to go.

1620.  50 reps in 0:35.

1623.  50 reps in 0:34.  200 to go.

1626.  50 reps in 0:35.

1629.  50 reps in 0:35.  100 left.

1632.  50 reps in 0:36.

1635.  50 reps in 0:33.

40:33 for 800 reps.

In order to beat my 1000 reps time I will have to complete 200 more in approximately 19 minutes from today's time.

Today begins another week of 3000 pushups and I plan on doing 1000 on Friday, 30SEP2022 which will should conclude my pushups for the year so that I can focus solely on strength training with some running mixed in.

800 completed today starting at 1631 and finishing at 30 seconds past 1710.  Sets were 100-50-50-50-50-50-50-70-70-60-50-50-50-50.

39:30 used which is about 1 minute faster than last Monday's 800.

750 knocked out today.  Also did 60 curls in each hand with a 42lb ammo can.

I'm sort of planning to do 650 pushups tomorrow which will put me at 2200 for the week just so I can do better than I did last week.

That same mindset is the reason I added 50 to today's benchmark.

That'll leave me with 800 to complete by Friday.

Got another 650 knocked out today and am currently at 68,200 YTD.

800 left for this week which will probably get split 500/300 tomorrow and Friday.

30SEP2022 will be my next workout day after this week concludes to allow for good recovery and I'll find out how much 1000 pushups will take me.

Hoping to be in the 55-56 minute range.

Goal is to be under 200 lbs by EOY, on pace to crush that goal. Was off track up until July due to injuries I got from being a dumbass. I was up to almost 255. Started doing a strict keto diet, cardio, and 5x5. In the last 3 months I'm down to 217.8 as of this morning and according to my scale have lost nearly 8.5% body fat. Starting to actually see some muscle and definition, pretty proud of the results after only 3 months.

Well done!

I got my final 500 pushups for the year completed today as well.

70,000 complete.

I also did 5x10 curls with each hand yesterday and today with an ammo can coming in at 42lbs.

Next week I'll start almost exclusive strength training with bench press, more weighted belt pullups, rows, leg press, and whatever else I can come up with.

After reaching 70k pushups this year, I've focused on getting strength training back in play.

My focus on bench press has been 2-3x/wk, and sets ranging from 185-215 lbs.

Today I went in and instead of my normal warm up set at 185 x7, I came in at 10 and felt like I could've gotten 11.

At that point I decided to see where my 1RM was, and this time last year I was at 235.

Today I managed 235x2, 240x1, 245x1, and failed at 250.

My goal is to get 250 by year's end, and I'm fairly close.  I'll probably have to be able to get 185 x12 or x13 to give myself some cushion.

10 years ago I could easily push 225 x 12-15 or 285x5-6, but I am 40lbs lighter than I was then.  The scale told me 181 was my curb weight this A.M.

I have 2 months to get to 250 or better.

Wish me luck and success.

My workout yesterday was uninspiring

Bench press only.

Started with 5 reps at 185
Completed 1 at 235
Dropped down to 205.  2 sets of 4 and one set of 2.

Back down to 185 again for 5.

I got there too late in the afternoon and it was crowded and I was hungry.

Going to head over today around 1430 or thereabouts to do calf raises, weighted belt pullups, and about 20 minutes in the sauna.

I think I'm scrawny at 180.

Heck at the end of 2020 I was down to 166 and within 5 months I ran my way back up to 189.

Never crossed though.  I think that would've taken 25k calories a week to get there

Had a good day at the gym.

Got in around 1530 and ran a few sets on the bench and some hammer curls.

135x5, 185x10, and 225x4.

My objective is to do a 250lb bench by year's end, and I think I'm PDC.

This is a far cry from 10 years ago when 245x10 was my warmup

I also did 3 sets of hammer curls with 50lb dumbbells for 10 reps per set.

I finished with a wide grip pullup as well.  10 reps.

got into the gym today to do 3 sets of 10 with 50lb dumbbells and one set of 5 with 60lb dumbbells.

Tomorrow is likely to be tricep press downs and rows.
