I got this very lightly used 1976 Colt New Frontier .22 SA revolver along with a nice Bucheimer holster of about the same vintage. I have about $400.00 in it.

Sadly it did not come with the .22 Magnum cylinder but I know where one is I can pick-up for cheap. It's more of just something to have with it as I seldom mess with the .22 magnum cylinders anyway.

IMHO the 70s run of the New Frontier is far and away the best .22 SAs ever made. Colt made them from 1970 to '77 in this form then they had some NF abomination with a cross-bolt safety in the 80s.

The funny part is that I bought a NIB one in the 70s for $155.00 retail (I remember because money was darn tight back then) and it did not keep up with inflation very well at all as that $155.00 would be worth $745.00 now. Just goes to show how weak our dollar is.

You bastard.
I had a Peacemaker. 22 when I was a kid in the '70s. Swapped it off in some long forgotten trade. I miss it now.

I really hate you sometimes.

Nice find.  I have an older Single Six that I got ages ago for $160.  It's great fun but a genuine Cold would be nice.

Nice.

Single-action revolvers are fun guns. Especially in .22.

I did the same thing. No idea what I traded it off for.

I picked-up a like new '62 three-screw Single Six last week and while it's nice and all it's not even close to the quality of the Colt.

I remember Uberti makes/made a really nice .22 SA convertible called the Stallion and that's the closest I could think you could get to it quality-wise. Even then it looked like the Peacemaker and did not have adjustable sights. The adjustable sights makes a .22 far more useful in the field.

They are fun little pistols. I have a 70-something Frontier Scout with both cylinders.

Nice. I passed that exact gun up in a pawn shop Saturday. If it had been a 4” gun I couldn’t have resisted

Man......I wanted a Colt 22 Peacemaker soooooooo bad when I was a teenager back there in the mid 70's.
They may as well of costed $87,000 dollars to me then. I could not afford one.

Recently I've been perusing them on GB. I'd love to have one but at $1K+ for a minty one they still may as well be $87,000! LOL!

Yeah, the 4-5/8" one would be super sweet. The reason I traded off my first one was that it had a 7.50" barrel. Way too long to be practical and back then that was what it was all about to me. Damn it shot good though.

I have a New Frontier w/both cylinders. They are solid guns. I also like my SS Ruger Single Six. There's just something awesome about quality .22 revolvers.

I’ve got that same gun, perhaps even the same year, with .22 mag cylinder and a Lawrence holster.

One of a few guns I inherited from my biological father.
