And on the offhand chance you had to tell the bartender what “neat” meant, I bet it was only $7. Those places are the best. LOL
Don’t laugh, I’ve had to do that in a few small town places. And yes, I ended with Glenlivet pours damn near that size for $5-$6. |

Tip well. ??
Oh, and let us know how long it takes you to sip your way to the bottom, and how much hotter the women get by then. |

Bartender is a rookie, a 17yo girl, or both. Enjoy it OP you just ordered sliders and got a triple cheeseburger.

Got a bottle sitting near me but I still don’t have a taste for that much smoke and peat.
I think I might have a glass of Aberloir 16 though. |

Quoted: I can taste the peat in that picture..love it View Quote Ok, here’s my retort to the obvious reply: Laphroig is only 1/3 peat. There are tons of Smokey and Peaty scotches to try, but Laphroig 10 has another two layers: Seaweed/Salt Iodine It’s a glorious mix that goes well beyond mere peat into another area that is rarely explored. |

How do you feel about Ardbeg, specifically the Uigeadail? You are talking my language. I haven’t had Uigeadail yet. But I have 2 bottles of Uigeadail and 2 bottles of Laphroig Lore on order to answer that question. |

Mouthful of peat moss washed down with iodine.
Four bottles of Johnny on my bar right now, blue down to black. Any one of them is a better drink to me but to each his own. |

Wife likes Laphroaig when she wants a "light" Scotch.
I just got a long lecture. Apparently the 10 is a solid whiskey, the triple wood and others are light whiskeys. And she remembered a bet I lost so I have to go look at Scotches next week |

My favorite bar was a steakhouse with 2 for 1 happy hour on everything. Including single malt scotch.

Isn’t that what the American character from Strike Back said in the first episode?
On another note, remember Strike Back? |

I stand corrected...the Corryvreckan and Uigeadail are two of my favorite Islays (up there with Lagavulin, of course). Laphroaig is a bit unpolished for me, especially neat. To my original point, though, the A’bunadh is a delicious, well-rounded, woodsy sherry dram |

Using Laphroaig as a floater for a Penicillin cocktail makes this one hell of an aromatic drink

Quoted: Discuss the bottle on the right... I bought it at the distillery. My wife and I vacationed in Scotland for 2 weeks with another couple. We rented a fishing cabin on Islay for one of those weeks. It was just down the road from both the Ardbeg and Laphroig distilleries. We had tasting tours at every distillery on the Island. We also spent a few days at Oban because Oban 14 is my wife's favorites. From there we took a boat out to the whirlpool at Corryvreckan. We hit a bunch of Highland distilleries and a couple of Lowland. And everything that was open at Cambeltown. A good time was had by all. |
