So I'll be working tomorrow and Sat.

Work in retail. 12 hours tomorrow and 12 hours Saturday.
About the only upside to this whole thing is that I am putting in 56 hours this week, with holiday pay on top of it. OT baybee! Don't get it offered often, but when it is, I'm all over it.

So what will the pay be for the week?

I am. I was let go in Jan, after 27 years, and this company will work, so I have no time to take off. So I'm working.

Plus I'm leaving early to go by TSC for a earlier bird special. My wife is getting me the 24 gun Winchester gun safe. 150 off........

I do. Customs broker/freight forwarder. The freight never stops needing to be cleared through Customs or be moved, period.

It's actually a half staff day. You can pick one day from day after T'giving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve to be off. I always choose Christmas Eve to be off. There's never a conflict. More people seem to want to be off tomorrow or New Year's Eve.

I actually brought a big stack of files home with me. I've been slowly working through them during the afternoon/evening. But I got to sleep late, so I was happy.

I work on medical equipment.  My company gives us the day off.  I'm going to a site less than half an hour away to switch a cable (two connectors and I have to zip tie it to another cable 15 min max). I may even stay to make sure the treatment goes off without a hitch.  I'm doing this on my own good will.  I told the customer that I wouldn't require a purchase order (which would normally be required as it's a holiday) as I'm not going to charge my company OT.

I use to get stuck working the holidays as my last company use to like to schedule the heck out of them when they were billing the clients 2-3 times the rate and we got paid straight time.  I got fed up with it after spending some holidays last year(christmas) sleeping in my car since they had me out of town and their hotel allowance was so low I couldnt get a room and their policy is if its more you pay the whole amount if you want a room.

I work for myself now and spend time with the family

My company is closed but we still have international financial deposits hitting our bank accounts that need to be processed. I will probably show up for 30 minutes to make sure my employees are all set.

.gov contract swapped contractors last month.
All of the contractors lost their vacation time and sick time.
New contractor does not allow "no pay days".
250+ contractors have to come in tomorrow and do nothing for 8 hours since the .mil has a 4 day weekend

I took vacation.

I drive a brown truck making deliveries and pickups. Some businesses are open as usual, regular day with light volume, more mileage to cover half the guys not going out on route.

Dreading Monday and all those online shoppers, probably 60 hour weeks until X-Mas for me.

I work today.  I actually work 24on/48off, and because of that I work Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve this year.    Oh well.  I chose my profession and as long as shifts don't change, I'll have those holidays off for the next two years.
