The first rifle gift I got was a Remington 700 BDL DM 30-06
The first rifle I bought was a Mini-14
First handgun gift S&W 39-2
First hand gun I bought Glock 22

Would not get another 700 in 30-06 (had no use for it.)maybe in another cal like 308.

Mini-14 never I had it for a little over a year and never shot new in the box. Do to that there was no where around for me to shoot it (place closed down the day after I got it.) but the first time I took it out to shoot it the firing pin broke and it would only shoot one round at a time.

The S&W 39-2 I don't think I would buy another one.

The Glock 22 I would buy another one as quick as a wink.

The first gun I bought was a used bolt action .410 for $5 back in '68.  On my 18th birthday I went to a gunstore and bought an Anshutz .22 target rifle.  It shot 3/4" at 100yds.  I still have a 100yd prone 20x target I shot with it.  Wish I still had both guns.

I grew up in a house full of guns, and my dad bought me the basic rifles and such as a kid. On my 18th birthday we took my money and went and bought a Dan Wesson M15 .357 kit (3 barrel lengths). It was a nice revolver, but I doubt I'd buy another one.

First gun was a Bicentennial 10/22. I was 11 at the time. First pistol was a Taurus PT-99. I doubt I would buy another Taurus and I think I'd pass on another 10/22. A tricked 10/22 for a good price might entice me though.

1st gun = Crossman 766  put a Tasco 4X on that and I RULED THE WORLD.   There was not a chipmunk, bird, or cat that was safe in our backyard.  Mom would not let me go after the red squirrels as they were considered "family"
Yes I would buy again but they don't make it anymore - they have some other one that looks a lot like it though.

A SEARS Model 2T, .22 caliber S, L, OR LR.  Bought it either 1968 or 1969.  I wanted to buy a rifle to shoot jack rabbits in Texas when I was a kid.  My dad said if I got the money he would take me to town to buy a rifle.  Mowed lawns for the summer @ $2 a lawn, went to SEARS & the rifle was on sale for $30...out the door with ammo & cleaning kit...total $34.  I still have that rifle and it's the best shooting .22 I ever owned!

SW39 but my dad took it from me for his.

So I do not count that as "my" first one.

Ruger P89, Still have it. But I would rather buy Sig 220, Since I already have a Glock, HK, Steyr M40, Desert Eagle, 1911 Colt/Para,etc.

M1A or AR10 in Rifle since SLR95 AK was the first I bought in Rifle.

What my first gun is could be debated.  Like many other members here I grew up in a household of firearms.  My dad had an FFL and Class III and still at 53 buys about four to five guns a year.  My first was a Charter Arms .38 special when I was 12.  It was loaded with rat shot for snakes as I explored about the ranch.  The first gun that my Dad handed to me and said this is yours to have and take with you is a Second generation Glock 19, which was given to me on my 21st birthday.  That has now started a family tradition.  My Brother just got a Glock 33 for his birth day.  Anyway my .02

winchester 1894 carbine in 30WCF

Sparked with lifelong moneydump of old winchesters and anything ancient or obsolete.

Not the trash winchester puts out today. even in the 80's you could buy a normal one without the buttons and rebounding hammer or 1/2 the reciever milled away....

Oh, yes i would buy another for the pile
