Cut down Suomi and shotgun used by Forest Brothers and tattered jacket of one caught and sent to Siberia at the Occupation Museum
The West didn't really care much about Communists until 48-49. The Greek Civil War and Berlin blockade along with Czech going fully Communist made them wake up but by that point,the Baltics had already been occupied for almost 5 years and with no support the resistance was worn down. The Brits did send some aid and exchanged agents via German E-boats with German crews but honestly didn't want to entirely rile Stalin and the Brits were filled with Communist agents. The last Forest Brother wasn't killed until 1979 BTW |

A better idea would be to have Lithuania give detailed IED making instruction to each and every member of their regular armed forces, while quietly stockpiling fertilizer, nitromethane, etc, in small caches throughout the country. Then instruct citizens to stockpile the sorts of common household goods that are useful in IED manufacture. If/when the Russians invade, the army 'disbands' and goes guerilla from day one. Best idea yet. |

It has become mandatory for high school kids in Eesti to have military indoctrination ,somewhat similar to ROTC as preparation for conscription or joining the officer corps.
Defense is a serious issue,Estonia one of the few countries to meet its spending obligation with CV9035s and Javelins as the newest acquisitions and PzH2000s to come. I'd like to see HIMARS paired with Saab ARTHUR but honestly,there's no way to have any match with Russian artillery,they have too many tubes. I'm not really joking when I say that it'd mostly be a matter of keeping them busy until Polish Leopards showed up. For that matter,I don't think Russia would do anything unless they went all in on Ukraine,Moldova and the Baltics at once. It'd go ugly fast but just as a matter of geography and numbers,they brought almost everything they could to intimidate Ukraine. That was far fewer than what the coalition had in OIF. Spread them out from the Baltic to Black Sea and that's not very many Russians per square mile if they had to occupy everything. |

Unless the bear is willing to die in order to take the Lithuanian morsel.. they do not have to take on the entire might of the bear.. they only have to make it so that its too costly for the bear in relation to what it wanted.
