Never watched this show, and don't care if they just go back to making duck calls!!

Don't care. I'm finding too much in America that really perturbs me to worry about this.
They're not FSA, and seem to espouse decent values. |
Saw loofa's in the shape of all the guy's faces, where the lacey sponge-like frill was the character's beard.
Not interested with uncle Si scrubbing my nether region with his facial hair. Why is this a thing? |
Crap is even at the grocery stores round here. Seem like decent people so I'm glad it's them, it's insane how much merch is out there.

They are laughing all the way to the bank, as is every store that sells the stuff. They have figured out capitalism 101 and they have a unique brand. If you did the same thing, you would go and go and go as well. One day the bubble will pop, and then like all stuff, they will figure out another way of doing it.
Someone queue the pillow pets turned dreamlights, turned stuffies turned..... |

<----- Never seen the show(no cable or satellite by choice), don't care to, but sick of hearing about them.
I'm not offended, although I can see how people would think they're overexposed. Point is: ALL reality shows eventually fade. Yes, they're the hottest brand going right now, but they won't be forever. They'd be absolutely crazy not to take advantage of it and rake in all the cash they can while the gettin's good. Any of us would do the same thing.
Besides: I'm a lot happier seeing these guys in Wal Mart then the latest pop star that's binging on drugs, failing at life, and is only popular because of her latest leaked porn video. |
i am getting very tired of it, and quick. i guess they have to get while the gettin' is good, but ive never seen it at such a pace.
i started giving up on them when i saw Duck Dynasty sugar cookies in Walmart--talk about selling out! time for them to give up their man badges |
I've never seen the show and though their stuff is everywhere you look I've never bought any of it and I don't think I know anyone that has any either.
They'll have their 15 minutes and people will move on to something else. |

Why do you hate capitalism? American chopper/ orange county choppers did the samething. Over saturation to the point where people hated them. worked wonders for the family too... Duck Dynasty has very little legs left, it's become beyond sketched out in terms of setups, repetitious predictability and not amusing. My wife bought be a t-shirt with something Jase's photo on it, I have yet to wear it... They are using their 15minutes well, and will have hopefully do some good with it aside from merchandising. |

The show sucks, the merchandise sucks just as much. That one dudes wife is smoking hot though.

I'm fairly tired of the camo / tactical / etc is cool thing. Given I'm guilty of wearing camo, hunting gear and tactical stuff. But it's all party of my life. Not just a TV show or what's popular. I shoot IDPA, USPSA and 3 gun - typically weekly with a mid week practice. I've spent more days hunting this year then most people get vacation. If you're just trying to be cool, cut that shit out. I love asking these guys who have the browning shirts on and hunting crap all over the place 'so how'd you do this season'? And they tell me some big story thats bullshit of how they got this monster deer or awesome elk. When I know they didn't even get out this season. View Quote I wear camo all the time? Am I not allowed to now that Duck Dynasty made it cool again? Why? Because I wear out (human scent) my hunting clothes and then use them as my everyday clothes. |
Show's ok, I don't care about the merch, because I don't buy any of it.
One thing I do hate is hearing assholes saying "happy, happy, happy" all the time around here. How retarded. |
DD shirts and coozies etc are worn by the same people that wore Orange County Chopper bullshit ten years ago. Same people, same product, different branding.
IMO, it's far more preferable to all that snookie horseshit.
For once there is a show that isn't entirely repulsive. I'm glad they are succeeding. |

You've obviously never watched DD. I've never heard a single cuss word/ family fight/etc. If anything OCC taught people to hate their fathers. DD teaches them to respect their fathers. |

Just like Orange County Choppers years ago. It gets old and I don't buy into anything.
I like them and wish them continued success; I've bought quite a few of their teeshirts and enjoy wearing them.
Good, self made people. |

View Quote So tell me how being "tactical" is part of your life. Are you in special forces? SWAT? How many days a year should one hunt before being allowed to wear camo? Can we designate you the camo-czar? This thread has gone full retard. We now have people deciding over who are what is part of the cool kids group that is allowed to wear certain clothing or they're deemed "unworthy". |

I see it as a sign that the end of Duck Dynasty is near
love the show but lets face it people buy the crap.... so sell them the crap Im betting all this hoopla pushes them from redneck millionaires into redneck billionaires dont mind one bit.... good honest people |

I have no respect for them. They sold out, just shows everyone has their price. I really used to enjoy their duck hunting DVD's, but now could care less. View Quote I'm not a fan of the show and I think their merch is just stupid, but I don't understand this mentality at all. You are saying that if you were offered millions of dollars to put your companies name and personal likeness on merchandise you would say no? |

So tell me ARFCOM, who among you, if in a similar position, wouldn't milk the fame and fortune for all you could if the opportunity presented itself.

I don't care one way or the other. What blows me away is that in a period of about 2 years, the company went from slapping their logo on duck calls to slapping their logo on what seems like everything and the American public continues to consume it! I'm interested to see how much longer it lasts.

I saw a Duck Dynasty pillow at Walmart a few weeks ago...now I know what the well appointed trailer is decorated with.

I can't get too upset about anything that takes airtime, bandwidth and mindshare away from the Kardashian Slut-a-Thon of the Week.
But I agree, it's overmarketed. |
