I remember back when Clinton was CIC...He stopped at Naval Base Norfolk (1995 IIRC) for a visit...we were briefed that regardless of our opinion of him we weren't allowed to "Boo" him because his is the CIC (Respect the rank not the individual).

Did the troops in Iraq get a similar briefing?

I hope they didn't because he isn't CIC yet.

He's still a "Honorable" Member of Congress.

That is debatable.

I dont ever remember being taught to salute Congress members...they are civilians and nothing more...

For my 2nd trip I was there in Nov '05 and left in April '06 (with a 1 1/2 month detour to Camp Rawah). I was with NMCB 133

I spent a bit of time hanging out in the Seabee camp, but that was when NMCB...17 I think was there.

A Corpsman I went to FMSS with (female, but not like that) was with them.

We probably passed each other in the line for DFAC I when I ate over there...unless you ventured to DFAC II for the better food
