Having had the painted zippos, I recommend against them. Every one I have had has had the paint nick off within a few weeks. If available in the satin steel finish, I will definitely buy a couple, otherwise probably 1.

thanks will do. PsyWarrior i dont know if there "painted" more like a hard emamle but if your would like there is the brass one im selling its not painted and should be engraved rite in to the metal. OldFalGuy and DABUNNY im still waighting on the pics from zippo my self. i riped in the there guy agin and there reason was there art fept is swamped rite now and "should" have them wed or thr (5/28-29)this week, i riped in real good and let me know how pissed I was and that it was hurting the sale's. if need be i can alow a few extra days to recive snall mail for the guys holding out for pics. agin guys im sorry about the pic's but as soon as i get them il post them. thanks ray |

Could you render the images onto some zippo images, kinda like I did for the watches? So we have an idea how they are positioned, etc.
I can't believe their art department is having so many problems doing this and taking so long to do it. I barely knew Adobe Illustrator and Sumo taught me a couple things, and the rest I picked up myself. Its not rocket science once you know the basics... |

this is the pic zippo sent me today but it is WRONG it is spouce to have a single ar15 and not have the "ar15.com home of the black rifle" on it but just so you can see here is what were working on for now. and the "AR15.COM" is to be engraved noe in coulr.

Taking simple instructions and coming up with something totally different... hmm. ok this is what happend i send the art work form kevin_m4(the crossed ar) then i got the art work from you & Sumo and sent that in like 3 days latter( i think).. i told there guy 5 times i wanted to use the 2nd set of art work that i sent..allways saying the "single rifle" and "2nd art sent in"when refering to your art work.. then i emailed the head of the art dept with exact directions of what i wanted then they sent me(yesterday) a zippo with just "ar15.com" painted on it..they cant even get the rite methed of engraving done rite. then i sent them a "nice"[;)] email after work yesterday and got this pic(crosed m4s) back today... last nights email i told them down to the last little dot of how i wanted the lighters.. the crosed m4's WILL NOT BE USED. i dont like it after seening it on a lighter. i TOLD THEM TO USE THE SINGLE M4 OF YOUR ARTWORK this is what they sent me. i fired back another email as soon as i got this and will continue doing so untill it becomes what WE want. thanks for understanding ray BTW after this is done and i have them in hand we all can send a "love" note to the head of zippo...but i want to make sure i get them in hand before anyone pisses them off...thanks |

I would tell them since they can't do something simple, correctly after a couple attempts, that they do not need our business.
I would offer refunds, and/or look into another style lighter. I have connections to do various custom lighters, including jet flames. Let me know... |

Lets not get our panties in a bunch just yet and ask for refunds and try to get another company. I dont think tattoo wants this turning into a nightmare like the watch deal where it took weeks for a final design to get chosen. It seems like you are jumping on him and causing unnecessary stress for him. I trust tattoo and feel he will make the right choice and get this project completed. Lets cut him some slack so he can do this. |

Zippo does not have their act together, and he realizes that too. The design didn't take weeks to be chosen-- it was done within a couple days of the original thread. (and parts of it were used for the complete Zippo design) The reason for taking weeks with the watches: rush something and you will get something you didn't quite want. The Fossil watch looked good in a picture online, but after evaluating the sample, I had to look elsewhere-- a good decision. You don't know how many catalogs and crap I had to go through to find this new model, which turned out for the better... It also took weeks because a lot of it was planning and information gathering. |

Definately chew them out, take it up to a highe rlevel, maybe see if they will throw in a few extra lighters for your hassle, etc... that's nothing to them. |

Actually the watch deal was only delayed because of the selection of the watch body, NOT the design.
We found that the Fossil did not match the quality criteria, and therefore searched for another watch. And what do you mean by knock-off? No one said it was a knock-off or a copy of any particular watch. It looks similar to many other watches out there (O/W, Roles, etc - hell, you could call an O/W a Rolex knock-off too!). It is a common watch design. |
