Related to Jesse James.  Not a direct Descendant though, my connection came from his aunt or uncle or something, I don't have a copy of the tree to verify.

One of my parents knew Janis Joplin growing up, she was a bit older than my parents though.

And my grandfather knew the family of, and G.W. Bailey pretty well from what i've been told, I've been by the house he grew up in, but never met him or any of his family.
G.W. Bailey (Harris from Police Academy)

on a side note..WTF? Police Academy 8????  listed as announced / rumored on IMDB.com

my father used to be the announcer for the New Britain Red Sox (now the Rock Cats) here in CT back in the early 80's.

my father befriended Roger Clemens and often times had him over the house for bbq's, birthday partyies, pretty much anything to make him feel at home when he was away from his.  They still speak to this day.

My great-great  grandfather was a twin brother to President Nixon's grandfather. One of my deceased great Uncles lived in a VA Hospital near Nixon's Cali. Place. When he was President hand went to visit he would not allow the Press to follow him there. We have family photo's of the two of them at the hospital, taken by family members. President Nixon was a very private man. I know he visited the VA hospitals a lot and did not want publicity for that.. In case of someone want to call BS or rain hate down on Nixon my Mothers maiden name is Nixon.

I pumped gas in Sammy Hagar's red Ferrari.  He was pretty cool.  His woman friend was a beyotch.

I sat in and rode around in that ferrari and his matching black ferrari.  Sammy purchased them legally in the late 70's.  The importer tried to smuggle them into the US without bringing them up to emission standards.  He had those two cars, a few maserati's, porsche's, lambroghini's and a host of other exotic cars all driven through the border station in the small Maine town I grew up in.  All the cars came across the border late at night, an hour apart and had Mass. plates.  Needless to say, the border guards knew something was up when the third $100k+ car came through in the dead of the night.

Sammy had to sue the USBP/Customs to get his Ferrari's back.  In the meantime, a good friend of the family was the head of the Customs station.  He let us sit in the cars and go for rides in them with other officers.  I was 8 or 9 at the time.

Well, we're practically related.  One of my buddies almost certainly brought those cars across the border.

My niece (brother's daughter) dated Billy Ray Cyrus' nephew (Miley's cousin) for a while.

I used to have Slash's home phone number back around 1988. Met him and his wife/girlfriend and their kid. Really nice guy.

Watched a Red Wings game in a suite at Joe Louis Arena sitting next to and talking with Gordie Howe.

. . . fortunately, on the day the trial was supposed to start, I showed up and was told to go home and I was released from jury duty - the trial had been delayed so she could undergo "further psychiatric evaluation".

Armand Hammer taught me to make a scotch and soda without killing the fizz.....when I was 7. That same evening, I asked him why he was named after baking soda.

My mom and Cybill Sheppard's mom had a mutual friend. Played with Cybill many times as a little girl, but we were never friends.

Smoked one with Muddy Waters....before I realized who it was. I was at some social function my mom made me attend at the Pink Palace Museum in Memphis as a teenager and I had just exited Debbie Reynolds' dressing room where she had grilled me on my talents and lectured me to go into showbiz. She was really very sweet, I just wasn't up for it. I stepped outside and sat on the museum's steps. There was some old black dude plinkin' on a guitar on the other end of the steps. He pulled a joint out of his pocket and gestured. I was rather amazed when I realized who it was. Guess that's why he wasn't shooed off the steps.

Al Green used to crash at a friend's place now and then. He'd get up in the morning and find him on the couch. Think he had a little 'fun' with one of my friend's friends when he was in town.

Dated a guy who lived across the street from Issac Hayes. We used to go over there, now and then. Kind of a weird guy. But he was nice enough to put up with a couple of teenagers, so.....

Played spades with the Elvin Bishop group on a plane back from LA.

Delivered flowers to Elvis when he was in the hospital after being shipped home from Las Vegas. Creeped me out. He looked dead. Actually, the flowers went to the room across the hall where Priscilla, Col.Parker, George Klein and a bunch of others were. But, I was in Elvis' room before I realized that.

Met B.B. King in Tupelo, Ms. when the a/c broke in his tour bus.....in August. That was one miserably hot dude. I gave him a folding chair and a Coke. He was absolutely delightful.

Memphis was an interesting place to grow up.......and leave.

Told this one here before...

My EX worked as a promo person at a major record label. She constantly had these stupid meet and greet things where artists were forced to meet all the ass kissers in the industry. I fucking hated it because she always wanted me to go ( security/driver) but she didn't want me talking/ mingling.

Well one night we go to one, and I at once assume the position ( beer in hand, hiding in corner) when up strolls this smokin hot and I mean smokin little blond chick. She tells me I look like a fish out of water and starts playfully bustin my balls like a union pipefitter. Without flinching I gave it back and pretty soon we're both laughing our asses off. About 20 minutes go by and I start to notice stink eye from the wife, come to think of it, everybody is kind of looking at us.  The smokin blond says something like " Oh I forgot, I gotta meet all these people. I'm shy and hate this crap, will you take me around to meet everybody?"   She wrapped her arm in mine and dragged me around the room to meet everybody. At some point in the night she started introducing me as " the man she was going to marry"

Needless to say the wife unit was not happy.

Oh yeah, the chick was Liz Phair. Do your eyes a favor and google her.

Working in TV for the last 30 some odd years, I have a head start.
I’ll just pop over a few:

Michael Jackson, as I filmed the Jackson 5 Farewell Tour, I had to go backstage and talk with him as he explained to me where the pyrotechnics were going to go off.

Monica Lewinsky, I ran into her in a coffee shop just outside of New Orleans in Mandeville, LA where I live. I have a picture of us together but I don’t recall where it is at the moment.

Paul & Linda McCartney, working on a documentary, I spent about 6 hours with them. Paul gave me a ticket to their show in the Superdome that was about to go on. I keep it and went home because they were making the audience watch an animal rights video before the show went on. I still have the ticket, but I should have gotten it signed!!! I'll be seeing McCartney on the 3 of April as we return from a BEATLES CRUISE on that day in Miami.

Trent Resnor, Mr NIN,I have worked with him a lot. I am on IMDB.com as a result of his DVD on which I shot all the interviews and videos for the segways. Also I shot TV commercials for them as well as edited a MTV special for them.

Billy Crystal, just shot the HBO Comic Relief special for New Orleans with him. Nice guy. I think the fat guy I worked with was somebody named Harry Anderson?

Many of the others through the years;
Merv Griffien
Burt Reynolds
Rita Colledge
Jessie Jackson
Sean Conerry
Jeff Daniels
Meleine Griffen
Billy Crystal
Alexander Haig
Douglas Fairbanks Jr.
Barry Goldwater
John Goodman
Tom Arnold
Ophra Winfrey
Pat Sejack
Vanna White
Regis Phillbin
Kelly Rippa
Kathy Lee Gifford
Terry Bradshaw
John Madden
Jimmy The Greek
A lot of sports announcers and players…such as Chris Meyers
Ted Nugent
Harry Connick Jr.
Aaron Neville
Bruce Johnson (The Beach Boys)
BB King
AC/DC
Joe Cocker
Larry King
Bob Barker
Various Playboy Playmates
Widespread Panic
A bunch of WWF dudes, Angle or something like that. He won an Olympic Gold medal. I spent the day with him

This can’t even be a fourth of it. One day I’ll try to write then all down.

Good Luck
Bill
