That sort of money could get you an online business, ie selling stuff like craft stuff on Etsy.

Probably a hot dog stand or other similar stand.

$2K isn't enough for a lawn maintenance company.

I started mine for less than that and was making $70k within a year.

Bought a used riding mower for $300 and already had weed eater and blower. Added an edger and hand tools.
Most I spent was on a used trailer for $450.

Hooked up with some larger outfits for thier extra small residential work they didn't want and found a good sod guy who delivered.
Paid everyone and paid for everything in cash. They delivered my materials and sod first for just that reason alone.
Killed it on the residential side.

My start up including Flyers and magnetic vehicle signs was maybe $1700.

Bought better equipment for cash as I could afford it.

Sold it 24 months later and moved.

Shit, they convert those storage places to stores around here in some places. On Saturday and Sunday looks like a third world shopping center. And during the week like a fucking South American slum.
A decent amount of our country looks and acts like a third world shit hole.
That's why people with money hide in gated communities or go live in the rural farmlands.

That's awesome but the only thing you're likely to do with that small amount of money is to waste it on some "open your own business" scam.

$2K isn't enough for any kind of business and with no direction in mind it's a recipe for disaster.

Figure out what you want to do and get some training whether 2 year, 4 year or vo-tech.  Do not use the $2K to start a business.

you could get a push mower and mow yards in town. With that amount of money that's about the only thing that you're going to get done. I have obscene amount of money tied up in my business. needless to say I can't make a living to save my life.

Economics combined with shitty decisions make for a really bad situation in an already crappy industry, in my case. also, plan on the very real possibility that you may lose that amount of money and then some.

if you want to do it, you should do it but not knowing what you're going to do with literally zero capital, that is a huge gamble.

Mow yards, clean houses, wash houses, wash vehicles. That is about the extent of the things you're going to be able to work with. make it cash, and offer discounts up front payment.

stay super shallow. I don't know the extent of your brain injury, and this may be a stupid ass question but are you able to think critically and think on your own.? were there any side effects from your from your injury?

Have you considered assembling ARs with cheap delton barrels and UTG parts, then re-branding them as top of the line and sell them for a premium?

You could market them by posting a torture test on youtube and having your relatives post about how great they are in online forums. Just make sure they pass the torture test, no one wants a rifle that doesn't pass.

$2,000?  Move that $2,000 from your left hand to your right hand and assume your business failed.

Then go get a hooker, a good bottle booze, and another AR.

Tons of low cost start up businesses out there.

Lawn service - I started one with my brothers when I was 14 and another brother was 16 and got his first truck. We did lawn cutting with a push mower, lawn aeration after we saved up and bought a used one after a few weeks. Then we started doing rototilling after we bought a used one. By the second summer the 3 of us were making 50$ + cash a day after expenses and fuel cost.

Window washing - a bucket and squeegee ladder and rags is under $100

House cleaning -

Pool service

Aquarium maintenance -

power washing service

Scrap metal business -

Here in arizona if you own a paint sprayer and can speak English you can have your own painting business pretty much.

My IT business is chugging along quite well.

Not enough to do it full time yet, not sure I even want to.

Not much in start up expenses at all, except my domain and web site which were under $100.
Registering with the county was like $20, iirc.

$2000?

could you even write a business plan for that much?

seriously though, I had about $10k and another $10k or so worth of tools when I started my business.

I ran pretty damn low, was at $500 bucks after paying rent once after a vendor fucking ripped me off. I had to have people pre-pay for stuff just so I could order it...

came back from that though.

Auto pinstriping, windshield repair or glass replacement, detailing, chrome/aluminum polisher.

Hoarder clean-up service.

Personal assistant services, babysit the elderly for their adult kids.

House painting.  Wallpaper hanger.  Carpet installer.

What is this "business license" you speak of?

I don't think he needs to incorporate "Mow Betta Lawn Service" and even if he does, it might only be $50 to register with the SOS like it is here.
