how is the "Fit" compared to a full grip 1911?

I'm surprised it hasn't already turned into a pile of rust already

Actually, I love mine and would definitely consider a .45.

Two, someone posted elsewhere that the finish was said to be melonite(sp?) in the advertising, do you notice any differences in the finish of the.45 and the others?

I noticed the finish on the slide seems to have a slicker feel to it

The inner corners of the grip, as shown in the mag weel shots, looks to be thin compared to the previous XDs.

I hope they won't crack there.

Saw one today at a local shop, went for the .40 last year cause they didnt make the 45 yet and wasnt willing to get into a new round (45gap) whished at that time they made a 45acp version --well something else to save up for now. $535 around here --ill wait for the "new" to wear off abit and the price to come down a little.
Saw Barret brought out a .416 caliber model 99 for california folks so between the XD and Barret its a good month for new stuff .. all for the SHOT show of course.

twonami,
Cab you take a tape measure and give the circumference measurement for the grip, maybe at more than one spot?
Thanx in advance,

GunMaster in Plano, Texas has one in stock. Gave it the twice over today. All I can say is that the grip is a natural for any 1911 shooter.
